It was worse than a catfight. A New Jersey woman’s fight against eviction ended in a deadly blaze Wednesday when she intentionally started a fire in the home she shared with dozens of cats and refused to vacate. The woman and dozens of cats died in the massive fire, which broke out shortly after 11 a.m. in Roosevelt, authorities said. State police had served the unidentified woman an eviction notice but she refused to leave and threatened to blow up the house.

A magnitude 7.6 earthquake shook Mexico's central Pacific coast on Monday, setting off an earthquake alarm in the capital. Pennsylvania State Police have charged a Conneaut Area Senior High School secretary with having sexual contact with an underage student at the secretary’s home in October. Sarah O. Shirey was arrested and charged by state police with seven criminal offenses. She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Adam Stallard of Linesville. According to the criminal complaint, Shirey, 32, of 21586 State Highway 285, Cochranton, had sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old student at Shirey’s Fairfield Township home between October 1 and October 30. A mechanic totaled a $3.4 million Ferrari when he smashed into a tree stump on a test drive. The bright red Enzo sports car, one of only 400 made, had two wheels ripped off and may be irreparable.
