Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Hmmm, seems to me I'd see him (Reagan Man, Jim, et al) more like this....

But then people do tend to see in others what they project of themselves...

It’s generally considered the responsibility of the person making the statements to back them up. If Mo1 is going to make charges about financial impropriety, then it’s his responsibility to back them up, not blow it off, and tell the other people to do the work themselves.

So, Mo1, where’s the evidence? I’ve never seen any thread on that.

Since this is Jim’s thread, you must be talking about him.

>>I would appreciate being told what if someone is paid to shill for a candidate. Then I know they have an agenda and I can take their comments with or without a grain of salt.<<

I understand you feeling that way.

And I’m a curious person, I’d like know who I’m talking to online.

But implicit in the word “shill” is the assumption that the person is akin to confidence artist.

But its not just ordinary schmucks like me who who disclose their employer or job details - particularly on political sites there are also people “in the business” who want to hang out and talk politics without disclosing their personal finances.

Since hopefully everyone here respects Duncan Duane Hunter, I’ll use him as an example.

Before he was running for congress he was already on Freep advocating his father’s campaign. Suppose it turned out he had a paying job with his father’s campaign. Would that invalidate his position here at Freep? Not a bit to me.

Other than for my curiosity I don’t need to know what everybody’s job and finances are like here.

The exception to that is if someone makes claims based on their expertise - then its nice to know what their qualifications are.

>>“EV also failed to mention that he’s a lobbyist for the state of Idaho, working to abolish state taxes,”

I hope that is true, that is very cool. I hope we have some anti-tax guys from every state.<<

Yes, for the record if anybody wants to flame me, my preference is to be accused of working to lower taxes. I could live with that.

Seriously, I don’t know how you would abolish state taxes, particularly in a time when we should be shift some responsibilities back to the states - but maybe you propose eliminating some taxes and/or lowering taxes.

I googled that phrase and found 169 references but they seemed to assume I already knew what it meant. Would you mind enlightening me and anybody else who was too young for Vietnam?
