Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Do you think that the Minutemen are vigilantees? When President Bush referred to them as “vigilantees,” did you agree?

Count me out on paying them though. My ancestors did not emigrate to the US until well after the Civil War. Why should I have to pay? We had nothing to do with it. It’s not my place to make up to someone else what another someone else did to them over 150 years ago.

Abortion should be outlawed like it once was.

If a sizable majority of the American people felt that way, it would be outlawed. Hearts have to change before laws will.

It does make you pro abortion/pro gay rights to support him, or at least means that you do not care enough about these issues to have them affect your vote. Either one is not a conservative stance.

>> EV also failed to mention that he’s a lobbyist for the state of Idaho, working to abolish state taxes, in addition to his work for Alan Keyes.

It’s rather disingenuous for him to pass himself off as just a regular citizen when instead he’s paid to be here, as well as on other sites, I’m sure.

And now he’s become one of the arbiters of who is conservative ENOUGH to be here? <<

EV and I disagree on many things but surely we have not come to the point where working to lower taxes is a black mark.

BTW, isn’t one the strengths of Freep supposed to be that many of the people actually do grass roots work for their principles? When Freep got a liason with the Duncan Hunter campaign there was a good chance it was part of his job to represent the candidate. And if we had not merited the candidate’s son there is a good chance the liaison would have been paid. Its good if we get actual activists in addition to armchair activists.

Maybe you should read the mission statement here instead of over there. Unless you just can’t resist the light. Your choice.

An abortion is NOT a medical procedure.
An EKG or a joint injection is a medical procedure.

An abortion is a murder. The government already bans murder, to ban abortion would not increase the size of the government.

Some of these are based on religious principles ("sodomy" for instance); some are not.

Do you like "natural law" by chance?

We have been through this before .. the president didn’t say that

And that is where you’ll call me a liar and post a link written by a reporter and not a link to what the President actually said

You have beaten this dead horse more times then I care to count and continue to make claims of things I didn’t say and call me a troll

Of course, the Minutemen are heroic. Even if it turns out that their record keeping is less than perfect. They are trying to do something of great import, for which we should all be grateful.

Not that Mo1 will give a rat's @$$.
