"IT SHOULD IGNITE NEWS CYCLES'... DEVELOPING.."

MY GOD, I'm so fed up with this kind of crap from the NYSLIMES! I'm sick to death how W administrations is helpless to bring these bastard leakers to accountability!! YOU know this is going to be a hit piece on the Republicans!

This will be Rove's November surprise.

Certain individuals at the Slimes have been told that they are in deep, deep trouble for the leaks, and they have been offered a get-out-of-jail-free card if they finally publish something accurate about Saddam's WMD programs (including the Syrian connection).

Just a wild theory.

I will be a contrarian and suggest that just maybe, before the elections, the NYT is changing it's stripes and this will be a support piece for the Bush Admin.

It will rip the dems for not being staunch defenders and supporters of the WOT.

Then, there will be a lot of phone solicitations offering discount subscriptions to the NYTs.

In fairness (gag, choke) to the Slimes, they had the NSA spying story in October 2004, and buried in until 2005 instead of publishing right before the election. End of fairness to them. They held it not to help Bush, but to give the author time to write a book to bundle along with the article. It was financial, not moral, but they did hold that story and they could have done it before the election. They also might have figured it would have given the President more votes.

This means that the attempt by Wolf Blitzer today to return to Mark Foley (interviewing Reynolds) didn't cut it.

Would it be out of the realm of possibility that the NYT has finally figured out.....traveling down the road they have been traveling is leading to nowhere....of course the eltist plicks in the NE...wouldn't figure that out.... It can be argured that it is further from the South to Washington DC now than was during the Civil War....I expect in the next 100 years that my Grandchildren will see things that I would never expect..

I'm thinking its a possibility. Didn't I just see that their circulation numbers for NYTimes and Boston Globe fell again? Maybe this is the start of a campaign to try to bring some moderate-to-conservatives into their camp by cozying up to them before an election. Or, just as likely, they have a big story that their "inner reporter" conscience is just itching to tell

Hilarious. Yesterday, MSNBC had a news flash crawl saying that Foley was going to remain in rehab! Big News, LOL.

What I would love (but I'm sure not expecting it) is if some reporter(s) developed evidence that Iraq collaborated with Libya and/or Syria on nuke programs, and even though the NY Slimes hates to be the bearer of such news, they would not dare suppress it.

However, what goes against that (beside the treasonous and despicable nature of Pinch, Keller, et al) is that in such a scenario they would NEVER publish just 4 days before a national election - they would have gotten it out there long ago, or else they would hold the story until after Nov. 7.

We will be in suspense now until more info hits the web....

The USA under a Republican President gave the Nuke Bomb know how to Iraq during the Iraq-Iran War in the 1980's and the current Bush administration tried to cover that up. IE, USA is responsible for Iraq's WMD if any are found.......

In fact if they have published the NSA wiretap story in October 2004 it would have helped President Bush and the Republican Party and we would have a bigger vicotry margin.

Whatever it is, Drudge already knows but can't or won't say. Considering the way he writes headlines, and that his prime audience are people like us, I think if it were bad for the GOP he'd somehow hint that, no? It'd be nice to have reason for optimism, however I'm inclined to think that despite some interesting postulations the NYT story will be a dud. Hope I'm wrong (and wrong in favor of the GOP that is).

That would be a story in itself - the Administration forcing the NYT to publish a story. They wouldn't go along, but they would publish a story about the threat.

I don't see that happening. It wouldn't be smart for the Administration, and it wouldn't work anyway.

They're going to bash Bush. The Times is going to take some old news, add in some "whistleblower" that should have spoken out years ago if he really had anything, and make it tomorrow's headline story.

Simple, They will expose that Our Troops did find Iraqi Nukes and That President Bush secretly has hidden that from the American public since the invasion.

Expect a lengthy diatribe on how President Bush betrayed the public trust by not telling the country that Saddam did indeed have nuclear weapons and that some of those weapons were transfered into Al Queda's hands just before the invasion and are presently unaccounted for.

Followed by of course if we hadn't invaded Iraq, Saddam never would have given Al Queda the nukes it needed to launch a nuclear attack against us at will.

The summary will of course call for the immediate impeachment of the President.

That is a good theory. The Slimes could release it 4 days before the elction in the hopes that the voters will not soon enough recognize the cognitive dissonance involved in believing that Saddam did not have WMD, on the one hand, and that Saddam passed WMD to Al Queda, on the other.
