It means there's only a few more days until the election...
No idea, but judging from the source it's most likely anti-Bush and involves a leak.

Some rehash of the Congressional report treated a year later as a "revelation" but was merely overlooked in a "Bush Lied" psychosis.

i bet someone gave them some 'leaked' paper saying that we knew there was NO WMD BEFORE we went in...there is no way on esrth the times would run a story that backed Bush in any way, shape or form!
Well it can't be that we "didn't find anything" because that's old news. So, I suspect it is either:
(1) An article about how the Bush administration allegedly covered up information that Iraq didn't have a program.
or
(2) An article about new revelations that Iraq was closer than previously reported.
Let me be the first to say, that considering it is the Slimes, this must have to do with the "evil doings" of the US "puppet regime" now, not of Saddam before the war.
I hope not...that would make me sick to my stomach if they come out with a "November Surprise"...unless, of course, its some kind of revelation that Saddam was months away from a nuke when we took him out or something...I would be okay with that...

There is no way on earth the Times would publish anything remotely pro-Bush on the Friday before the election.

Remember Quadaffi gave up his stuff after 911...and I do believe Iraq nuke scientists were in Libya working on some sort of project.
If it turned out Saddam was close to testing a nuke the Times would never report this before the election. It would support Bush's decision to invade.
What it means is Drudge is shilling for the NYTs again.

I don't know though...If Drudge quoted his source correctly, it would seem to me like the story is about Iraq's research of Nuclear bombs...if there was no research going on, or if it was about BushLied™, then wouldn't you think that the headline might read differently?

Based on the skimpy info provided so far, here's my guess: The NYT is going to tell us "Bush's failed Iraq policy" made the poor Muslims mad. So mad, in fact, that they may set some nukes off in the U.S.
Naturally, that means any future nuclear attack on America will be Bush's fault.
Be prepared to be sick to your stomach.
I just can't see the Slimes writing anything other than administration hit pieces.

It's probably some anonymous lib hack, current or former in one of the intel agencies, claiming "I told them Iraq had no active nuclear program!" Of course, it was probably only one person's two cents amidst a vast stream of intel issues and sources, but it will now be presented as the supposed "smoking gun" that the Bush WH was supposedly ignoring (yeah, like Bush and Cheney were just hankering to invade Iraq even if they somehow knew there would be no WMDs and the libs could spend the rest of their lifetimes bashing this issue).
Considering that the NY Slimes is printing this 4 days before a national election, it's a pretty sure bet that it is meant to be embarrassing to Republicans!! Whether there will be any substance beyond the usual anonymous disaffected hacks is another question....
It's got to be something along the lines of (1) -- Bush knew they didn't have nukes but left the threat of nukes in as one of the reasons for invading. But it does seem old news.
whatever it is, it has to be a lie. that's why they waited until now to print it, not enough time to debunk it, but in just enough time to get all over the news.

I can't figure out any other reason that the NY Times would bring up the subject prior to an election. After all, the majority of the U.S. has bought the canard that "Saddam wasn't even close to a nuke."

It means they have begun running conservative articles in order to raise the share price so they can maximize profit when they sell the Boston Globe to Jack Welch. It's all a temporary ruse, so don't get your hopes up.
And the nukes were developed by Saddam's generals and assorted minions without his knowledge.

Of course, another likely NYT 'story' is that they will claim that Iraq's nuclear technology, plans, and scientists, which were safely contained when Saddam was in power, have since ended up in the hands of Al Quaeda operatives (who were not in Iraq when Saddam was in power)...
Whatever it is, it will have been leaked to the NYT by a staunch Republican who is a patriotic former member of the administration (or the military, or a professional bureaucrat, or FBI agent), whose conscience would no longer permit him to do Bush's evil bidding...
Wanna bet the DemonRats have already coordinated their press releases on this story with their gay compadres at the NY Slimes?

The satellite photos shown to the UN before the start of the war strongly,*strongly* suggested that something valuable was being moved *from* Iraq *to* Syria.But if the Slimes were to see evidence that this was the case they'd bury it deeper than Iran is burying their nuke facilities.
