This will be Rove's November surprise.

Certain individuals at the Slimes have been told that they are in deep, deep trouble for the leaks, and they have been offered a get-out-of-jail-free card if they finally publish something accurate about Saddam's WMD programs (including the Syrian connection).

Just a wild theory.

Your theory is the best so far.

I would LOVE it if this were the case. Unfortunately, we're talking about the Slimes and they don't understand being put in peril - even when it's their own.

Just a wild theory.

Wild indeed.

OTOH, The Times is so screwed, you might be gloating tomorrow.

That would be a story in itself - the Administration forcing the NYT to publish a story. They wouldn't go along, but they would publish a story about the threat.

I don't see that happening. It wouldn't be smart for the Administration, and it wouldn't work anyway.

They're going to bash Bush. The Times is going to take some old news, add in some "whistleblower" that should have spoken out years ago if he really had anything, and make it tomorrow's headline story.

Could explain why Bush & Rove have been so optimistic.

Wishful thinking I know...

Great minds and all that!!! See my post #36. We're on the same wavelength.

Damn....I hope we're right. There is no reason for the NYT to bring up this subject just before the election - almost everyone has bought the spin by Blix and the Dems that Saddam wasn't a nuclear threat!!!

I think we have a winner. I have noticed Drudge has been putting a lot of pro-Republican stuff up lately. I think this is it.
