How the Democrats Went Nuts in Three Months (Will Pelosi lose the House - again?)
National Review via Yahoo ^ | 2/15/19 | Michael Brendan Dougherty

Posted on 02/17/2019 11:26:18 AM PST by Libloather

The Democrats swept to power in Congress by campaigning in a way that has been successful for Democrats for generations. “Republicans will take away your health care,” they said, after having focus-grouped it. Now we are preparing for a 2020 campaign in which Donald Trump and Republicans can as easily advertise to the public: “Democrats will take away cows, and your car.” What happened to Democrats?

Back in November, it looked like Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic House caucus had found the perfect plan for their party in the era of Trump: Avoid talking about impeachment and stick to simple bread-and-butter issues. Don’t tell swing voters that they are deplorable for having supported Donald Trump, instead, promise to protect the most popular features of Obamacare. Also, remind voters that Republicans cut taxes for the rich. Except for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who ran in a deep-blue district, most of the boundary-pushing progressive candidates lost their elections. All signs pointed to the idea that Democrats just had to be the normal party, and the upper Midwest would snap back in 2020.

But progressives have decided to push the envelope anyway. Fearing a conservative majority on the Supreme Court, blue states such as New York, Rhode Island, and Virginia set about passing expanded legal protections for various later-term abortions. This led to the governor of Virginia’s unforgettable discussion about providing “comfort” to a child born out of a botched abortion before “a decision” is made about whether that child should live or be made to die.

When Democrats can win elections ten days after they have lost them, I wonder if we will ever have a red wave again.

Put differently, if we can’t stop the dems from harvesting, we should get better at it than they are.

Kinda feels like a Red Wave.

I resent the coordinated media attempt to paint Conservatives as "red". I think we should start referring to ourselves "Blue" or "True blue" and the enemy as "red commies" and confuse the issue for the Mockingbird State Media.

Why play by their rules? Our President doesn't. Time for us to nut up.

We lost a lot of seats in high tax states because of SALT. We will not get those back. We will also lose seats in states like Pennsylvania because of SALT. The tax cut cost me about $300 a month since I lost a lot of my previous deductions for large property taxes. The 24k standard deduction did not help me. Now also take in your face voter fraud and we lose big. I don’t think Trump can even win Pennsylvania. All the Democrats have to do is cheat a little here and there and we lose.

Next time she loses it will be the last. She’ll be over 80 and at the rate she’s going senile may not even make it that long.

You should take them extremely seriously, Communists are well known for killing people by the millions.

Republican pundits need to start the mantra that the Republicans only need to pick up 19 seats to regain the House. Far less than what the dems needed. That will drive the dems crazy!

I think that the House would still be in Republican hands if those idiots had backed the President instead of being passive members of #Resistance.

***

Active members of quote-unquote resistance.

Remember, 40 safe GOP seats ‘retired’ midway through Trump’s first term.

Wasn’t apathy; it was actively trying to screw him over—and by extension, us.

Kinda feels like a Red Wave.
//////////////////////////////
May God help us make it so.

As recounted in one Ann Coulter book, if only men were allowed to vote, every election for decades would have gone strongly GOP.

As Rush worried in mid 2016: “I fear there aren’t enough good people left in the country to be a majority of voters
in the election.”

If only US citizens vote, we have a chance. Not the real world, though.

Illegals vote once or twice under two names like Muhhamood Qatsifi or Mohammed Quatseehfi. Verify either in Arabic lettering? Forget it.
Felons now returning to vote in FL and other states.
Motor voter losers in MI now signed up and driven to polls in Dem vans. Cemeteries in Detroit and Chicago and elsewhere have trove of back to life registered Dem voters. College bums vote at home registered in town of mother and again registered at dorm address at college. Double the Fun.

Many others, including the Soros company made voting machines that NEVER showed people voted GOP incorrectly but often added votes to Dems.

Man in City of Detroit:Told his experience on the radio:”My vote was changed after 2-3 seconds to wrong person. Help.” Official saw vote pop back to Clinton after he did Trump again. 6 times. All 6 counted for Clinton. She allowed them all due to malfunction. She said: “There are lots of people in line here waiting. I don’t have time to fix this. Just get out of line, sir.” He found out hours later his machine was taken out of service but all existing votes were counted so people all morning wouldn’t lose their votes.

News story played on Detroit am stations. I heard it.

The scary part is that AOC is a nobody and totally a creature of the media with the power of the media.

It is scary that in just a couple months the media can create a stooge and use that stooge to destroy someone, anyone.

I don’t know if Trump’s strategy was to lose the House or not (certainly the GOP leaders there didn’t deserve to keep it), even though I did point out that if Republicans did lose the House, Trump would have a PERFECT FOIL to run against in 2020, considering what I was hearing from the Democrats. Like most who agreed with me, I doubt any of us expected it to be this perfect.

And, unlike 90% of voters, and, sadly, still about half the people here, I’ve known for decades just who the Democrats are and where they will take the country, if given a chance - so none of this surprised me. But most of the country did not go to the ‘teach-ins’ at ESU, so they are CLUELESS as to what gets discussed behind closed doors, which is why someone like Manchin is still able to win (there were actually people here saying Manchin is as good as any Republican, don’t worry about him - but NEVER FORGET, he was never willing to give Kavenaugh his 50th vote, he waited until Collins did that). But finally, the doors are starting to crack open, and the ugliness and hatred is becoming visible for all to see. There is some hope - at least if we can get the electoral process cleaned up a bit.

The republicans were blue and the commie dems were red until the media banded together to make the switch to what it is now. I guess they could see their communist red color would come to haunt them so they made this change proactively. It won't do them any good. Commie red is still red. In fact now we have a good reason to put the word 'Commie' in front of the 'red dems'. Most people will get it and those few who don't will have their lights turned on when they have it explained to them.

At the rate the dem party is shooting themselves in the foot, knee, and head; one wonders what the commie red dem party will look like in Nov. 2020.

The silent assumption here is that the Democrat vote fraud will be nmo more than in . I believe that that will not be the case. Vote fraud was massive but operated in the crucial locations by incompetents. The Democrats got away with it clean. A few operators lost their jobs but that is only a tiny price where the ends totally justify the means. A couple of people in Texas where many thousand non citizens are known to have voted may get fines or even short jail stays but that is no price at all for the good of the Party. In the effort will be far greater than in and run by competent operators and better targeted. If DJT cannot get the voting system made bulletproof before November next year the Democrats will sweep, no matter how crazy they seem to be. By running on Occasional Kotex’s platform and then winning through fraud they will have license to very rapidly bring on the Total Socialist State. All our worst nightmares will be enacted and the heretofore Supreme Leaders on the Courts will be handing down Opinions straight to the dumpster.

“In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is...in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.” -- Theodore Dalrymple [Wiki attributes this to Anthony Daniels, TD is his nom de plume]
