How the Democrats Went Nuts in Three Months (Will Pelosi lose the House - again?)
National Review via Yahoo ^ | 2/15/19 | Michael Brendan Dougherty

Posted on 02/17/2019 11:26:18 AM PST by Libloather

The Democrats swept to power in Congress by campaigning in a way that has been successful for Democrats for generations. “Republicans will take away your health care,” they said, after having focus-grouped it. Now we are preparing for a 2020 campaign in which Donald Trump and Republicans can as easily advertise to the public: “Democrats will take away cows, and your car.” What happened to Democrats?

Back in November, it looked like Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic House caucus had found the perfect plan for their party in the era of Trump: Avoid talking about impeachment and stick to simple bread-and-butter issues. Don’t tell swing voters that they are deplorable for having supported Donald Trump, instead, promise to protect the most popular features of Obamacare. Also, remind voters that Republicans cut taxes for the rich. Except for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who ran in a deep-blue district, most of the boundary-pushing progressive candidates lost their elections. All signs pointed to the idea that Democrats just had to be the normal party, and the upper Midwest would snap back in 2020.

But progressives have decided to push the envelope anyway. Fearing a conservative majority on the Supreme Court, blue states such as New York, Rhode Island, and Virginia set about passing expanded legal protections for various later-term abortions. This led to the governor of Virginia’s unforgettable discussion about providing “comfort” to a child born out of a botched abortion before “a decision” is made about whether that child should live or be made to die.

I’m sure PDJT’s planning for 2020 is well underway, and has many dimensions and components.

If President Trump wins re-election it is likely that would carry the House back with him.

Him winning and holding the Senate are most important, however, because that would be another 4 years of conservative judicial nominees.

Yes, well this punk writer had to slam The Donald for a “lack of accomplishment.” He needs to check himself before he wrecks himself. The POTUS is delivering bigly. I think that the House would still be in Republican hands if those idiots had backed the President instead of being passive members of #Resistance.

The Democrats swept to power in Congress by campaigning in a way that has been successful for Democrats for generations.

The dems swept their way into power because 54 republican congressmen (98% reelect-ability) decided they were too good for this, being anti Trump and all, and thought they could teach him a lesson in politics.

Stupid effs.

Don’t need to. National Review spent several covers trashing Trump and anyone who voted for him. When can we expect a mea culpa?

The Republicans are almost certain to regain some of the seats that they lost in 2018, but they are unlikely to regain control of the House. With legal ballot harvesting and entrenched voter fraud, that will probably be a bridge too far. The good news is that every day that the Democrats that behave like they have been doing, they lose votes.

The Democrats have morphed, into a steady parade of kooks and crackpots. It becomes harder and harder to take them seriously.

How can we take Ocasio-Cortez seriously? She has a degree in economics but doesn’t even know how the unemployment rate is calculated. She has said many off the wall things. She’s said that since we only have 12 years before life as we know it ends, we aren’t allowed to talk about the cost of the green new deal.

She has said that Medicare for all gets paid for in part, by all the savings on funeral expenses, since people will not die in the same numbers, as when we achieve the Nirvana of Medicare for all.

She thinks the tax benefits proposed for Amazon to locate in New York, can now be spent upgrading the subway since the Amazon deal was jettisoned. Someone with an economics degree should know better than to make a statement which displays such ignorance of how these tax incentives work.

Short answer: Nope.

Long answer: Ballot harvesting (allowing a third party person to come and pick up mail in ballots and present them to polling officials) is spreading across the country. There is no accountability in place to ensure that the ballot the person filled out is actually the one which is presented to elections officials, nor any real penalty for ‘filling in’ missing information, such as skipped choices, nor any penalty for corrupting ballots (marking an additional space in a choice to say, negate the vote for a candidate the third party doesn’t believe in.)

Since it is primarily democrats who are picking up these ballots, and of course, primarily democrats who are making long lines for polling places, not so shockingly, where there is heavy ballot harvesting, there is a heavy gain for democrats in balloting.

So nope, no ‘red wave’ coming to the House, the democrats have a stranglehold on them right now until it is reformed to get them out of the ballot collection process.

GOP leadership basically handed the win to Dems and they only just won the House. Unless something happens (GOP tries to stop Trump) it’s gonna be a huge red wave next election cycle. Maybe putting a racist Muslim and 30 year old bartender as party’s leadership was a bad idea for Dems?

“The Democrats swept to power in Congress by campaigning in a way that has been successful for Democrats for generations.”

By padding the ballots, and getting
illegals to vote.

Some have said that 2020 could end up being like 1972.

I’ve heard that Nixon was not extremely popular during his first term. And that they expected he would face a tough re-election campaign in 1972. But the McGovern Democrats took over the Democratic party of the, “scared off” many who might otherwise have voted Democrat, and Nixon won a landslide

Trump is not going to win a landslide, as too many states such as California and the northeast liberal states will automatically vote Democrat in 2020, no matter how far out the Democrats get. But there are echoes of 1972 being seen here, as these Democrats today are going openly socialist.

I haven’t looked but depending upon the number of states that use some form of
paper ballots versus those that use electronic machines will impact the potential for ballot harvesting.

Her statements are so obviously extremely stupid that I’m beginning to wonder if she’s just pandering to her base because she figures they’ll believe it yet she really knows better.

She really said that fewer funerals would pay for everyone getting medicare???? OMG!

The thing about her is she’s too stupid to be embarrassed by her stupidity.

If election fraud isn’t stopped, we’ll never see anything close to a Red Wave.....or another Republican president.

But there are echoes of 1972 being seen here, as these Democrats today are going openly socialist.

One of them — California's Eric Swalwell — has signaled a willingness to use nuclear weapons against Americans who refuse to give up their guns to a Democrat-passed reversal of the Second Amendment.
