Two years ago, Tyler Barriss called in multiple bomb threats to the Glendale offices of KABC-TV Channel 7, prompting a mass evacuation. Barriss was charged and eventually convicted in connection with the hoax, one of several high-profile incidents at the time that focused attention on the act of crank-calling known as "swatting." Now, Barriss, 25, is accused of a much more serious hoax. He was arrested in South Los Angeles on Friday for his suspected role in a deadly prank in Kansas, police said.

What a despicable POS.
Bomb threats are death threats.
Swatting is getting a SWAT response on a target’s home/business (911 emergency, guns drawn, scenario).
And both are criminal acts yet the media got a good laugh at swatting of conservatives only a few years ago.
Should’ve been playing some “games” behind bars for his previous crimes.
“A rash of swatting incidents in 2013 targeting Los Angeles-area celebrities prompted police to stop publicizing the cases.”
Because Hollywood celebritards are so much more important peoples.
That little pizzant needs to start talking on the “Tucker telephone”.
Following the Swatting keyword lists out a number a cases of conservative bloggers and gun rights people being harassed (and pushed into potentially fatal situations)

“What a despicable POS.”
Yes, but they other POS was the cop who shot the man to death. This whole business of SWAT teams needs to be revisited. An innocent man being shot to death because of a bunch of amped up goosy SWAT cops is unacceptable. COPS GOING FOR THEIR GUNS AS A FIRST RESORT is criminal! And saying they’re sorry for the “mistake” doesn’t absolve them.
Shoot first, ask questions later. Got it.
Well at least the cops got to go home unharmed.
That is their primary responsibility, from what I keep hearing.
If a few more unarmed people are needlessly gunned down, well, that just the price the public has to pay to insure our betters are kept safe from all danger.
No, it doesn’t. If I was discombobulated by a SWAT invasion, I might not be following their instructions either. I can’t imagine how terrifying that would be.
What’s the most serious charge they can bring against this guy?
> Shouldve been playing some games behind bars for his previous crimes. <
Bingo. But some people will tell you that the jails are too full as it is. There is no room for mere pranksters.
So maybe Singapore has it right. If you commit a major crime, off to jail you go. And if you commit a minor crime, it’s twenty lashes with the cane. Either way, the state has got your attention.
Sorry, but this is about the swatter. But if you wish to start a thread to vent about your issues with police, feel free to do so.
Refer to my comment at #13.
Indeed the POS in LA should be reamed a good one, however Im extremely concerned about the fatal shooting of an innocent, unarmed citizen within their own home by the police. What happened to due diligence on the officers part? Other than an anonymous phone call from a number 1000 miles away, what other probable cause did the police have to utilize deadly force or ANY force at all? The officer/officers involved in this fatal shoot need to be charged otherwise EVERY citizen is/continue to be vulnerable to reckless government actions such as this.
The civil suit should be interesting.

Indeed it is about the swatter......who utilized reckless police action in an horrific crime.
“Whats the most serious charge they can bring against this guy?”

I dunno but I’d hope it would be some form of murder - it *should be* premeditated murder, at that.
