Around 4:30pm on Tuesday November 8, Democratic Underground was hacked, apparently by a supporter of Donald Trump. This person clearly knew what they were doing, and despite our best efforts we have not yet been able to resolve the issues caused by the hack.
We do not believe that any member data has been compromised. And we are confident that donor data has not been compromised because that information is handled by PayPal and never passes through to our servers. But at this time we are unable to bring our discussion forum online.
The hack was clearly aimed to cause maximum disruption on our busiest night of the year, and we deeply regret that we won't be able to spend election night with our great community of members. We ask for your patience while we continue to work to fix this problem, and while we do not have a time frame we will do our best to get DU back online as soon as possible.

Who would have guessed that out of all the hacking scares going into the election, the only thing that was hacked was their website! LOL

Are you sure it wasn’t Bernie or Donna? How about Carlos? What point was there for a Trump supporter to disrupt when your night was already going from bad to worse! If DU had stayed up, hemlock might have been a popular drink.

These guys couldn’t bring their server up in an entire day? What, no backups? No system administration? I want to feel sorry for them because it deprived me of some great gloating, but really, nobody in the biz should be this incompetent.
Maybe KJU will have DU’s cyber security admin executed!

I know! I was disappointed they got hacked. I was looking forward to watching their world fall apart as Hillary's defeat became inevitable.
There were a hundred threads celebrating the coming landslide victory over Trump.
They got hacked by a Jamaican pothead Trump supporter!?!?!

Salvia divinorum is a psychoactive plant which can induce visions .... The name “ Ska Maria Pastora”, often shortened to “Ska Maria” ...
Salvia is also a teaching plant, so maybe they learned a lesson.....
