These guys couldn’t bring their server up in an entire day? What, no backups? No system administration? I want to feel sorry for them because it deprived me of some great gloating, but really, nobody in the biz should be this incompetent.

Years ago I worked for a company whose headquarters on the east coast was flooded by a hurricane. We have to document everything by hand for two weeks. This was a big coporation. I thought then, Why didn't they have their database mirrored in another geographic region?
