Around 4:30pm on Tuesday November 8, Democratic Underground was hacked, apparently by a supporter of Donald Trump. This person clearly knew what they were doing, and despite our best efforts we have not yet been able to resolve the issues caused by the hack. We do not believe that any member data has been compromised. And we are confident that donor data has not been compromised because that information is handled by PayPal and never passes through to our servers. But at this time we are unable to bring our discussion forum online. The hack was clearly aimed to cause...

I often peruse the articles on Townhall.com as part of my daily dose of political commentary. Over the last few months I've noticed more and more left-wing kooks (trolls?) that have made prolonged appearences there. Did MoveOn.org recently assign a directorate to infiltrate and disrupt popular, center-right websites like Townhall?

Hello Freepers, As always, I start to do a Google search (The best, of course), and then I remembered that I always get better results by searching Free Republic!! But, I did a search and couldn't find anything, so here I am. You'll notice the URL I've listed above takes you to a Message Board called "Raging Bull"...I found it through Goodle, but I'm not too impressed. I'm not looking for the magic formula stock market message board, just some place trust-worthy, that maybe some of you get some info.
  • Maryland Appeals Court Will Hear 'Cybersmear' Case

A Maryland appeals court will hear arguments today in a "cybersmear" case that could help determine whether someone who makes an anonymous -- and disparaging -- Internet posting in chat rooms or on message boards could be unmasked. A decision could add to an emerging body of law shaping free-speech boundaries in the Internet age, when people using screen names as aliases regularly gripe online about politicians, employers and investments. The area is of great concern on Wall Street where online postings have moved stock prices and tarnished corporate reputations. The case stems from efforts by an Arizona drug company...

Dell's customers are lamenting about the company shutting down the Customer Care message boards that have long been part of its Dell Community Forum, with some wondering about Dell's service commitment. The moderated message boards, which allowed Dell customers to post and reply to questions about general order support, rebate status, warranty information or invoice questions, were shut down July 8. The company notified customers of the change on Monday with a posted message that referred customers to Dell's Order Status Web site or its online chat feature that promises to link consumers with a Dell Customer Care representative. Longtime...

When posting to the message board at http://www.ksszfm.com/ the paragraphs are often strung together. My question here is how do I block and separate the paragraphs in my post? This message board could use some help if any of you freepers have time. There are some real anti-Christian bigots that often post vile messages.

Murshed Zaheed is a 29 year old attorney from Washington, DC. He is one of the main individuals who regulates what visitors to Howard Dean’s web site can or cannot post. This is in addition to the other job titles he allegedly holds within the Dean campaign, according to one Dean staffer we spoke with. Through his conduct he has demonstrated that the Dean campaign feels they should decide what content may or may not appear on their web site in areas "supposedly" open for public posting and review. They hide behind a broad terms of service disclaimer that basically...

WASHINGTON -- With the Taliban out of Afghanistan and governments around the world restricting access to al-Qaida-linked websites, would-be militant Islamic holy warriors are turning to low-tech electronic message boards to find out where to fight.

The message boards, hosted by such domains as Yahoo and Lycos in the United Kingdom, are proving a free, unrestricted and largely difficult-to-track forum for would-be fighters to hook up with those coordinating operations, say terrorism experts and intelligence officials. Whereas once Islamic militants needed to pass through training camps in Afghanistan to be groomed for jihad, now they are announcing their desire to fight in Muslim holy wars and martyr attacks from cybercafes and home computers in Malaysia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.
