I like Newt, Trump says he wants someone who has governmental experience and has a history of getting things done. Newt helped get the budget balanced, end welfare as it was at the time, and passed most of the "contract for America".

A governor...not a contraversial one. If Ohio is critical then Kaisich if he would take it.

One of the limited partners of George Steinbrenner on the New York Yankees once said, “There are few things in life as limiting as being a limited partner of George Steinbrenner”.

I feel the same way about Donald Trump’s running mate. Who cares? It is all going to be about Donald Trump, all the time. Nobody will know who he picks for VP.

The poll must be gone; it's not a long page for me, the short blurb about it but no poll.

Please, God, not Newt. That was on the page after I got done checking my mail. There's nobody I can think of I really like except Nikki Haley and the Trump kids, especially Ivanka.

I think FReepers have some objection to Nikki (if she cheated on her husband, that won't fly).

I can understand if he were to pick Cruz, but I don’t think that will happen, and I think many don’t want that to happen.

Otherwise I’m not interested in anyone on this list.

I will abstain from making a selection.

Not sure if he has enough experience yet but my state’s own Kris Kobach is a very good young conservative. If not, I hope he runs for Governor when Brownback’s term is up.

Newt. Yeah.

I’d like to see Alan West, but that will never happen. He’s too outspoken. Hates muzzies.

See his ans about muzzies to young marine here:

THIS would NEVER do. LOL might spoil Obama’s carefully laid plans.

We are at war with Islam. I believe it is going to go hot.

We need someone with both military experience and civilian government experience.

Allan West.

If he just wanted to focus on devastating Hillary (assuming she doesn’t have a stroke before the Democrat Party convention: Carter Ham. Staring her in the face during debates. Reminding people of who she is and what she has done.

I would think Newt would be the most intelligent choice. I’ll vote for Trump irregardless, but I’d love to see Newt sitting over the senate to break the ties. I also think he would be able to guide Trump through the minefields that lay ahead.

I also don’t see him fondling anything in a skirt no matter the age, and just being a major prick like the current moron VP. And I’d love to see him continually rip through the morons in the media.

I like Dwayne Johnson..........Joe Biden and Al Gorp have already proven that you don't need brains to be a VP.

(Disclaimer: The Rock has more brains than the two of those idiots combined)

Sessions or Pence => help secure conservative base
Rand Paul => help attract “golden” youth demographic, e.g. disenfranchised Bernie voters
Kasich => (I don’t like him at all) but would help in Ohio / Pennsylvania

Jeff Sessions would be a good choice, i.e. a Senator who endorsed Trump early on and sees eye to eye with him on immigration and trade. Unlike Trump, he has legislative experience and knows how to work with Congress. The downside is that Sessions can't bring a swing state over to Trump, being from Alabama, a state that's guaranteed to go Republican regardless.

Unfortunately, the most prominent politicians from swing states are Kasich (OH), Jeb and Marco (FL), none of whom I'd like to see on the ticket. If Trump had to pick one of these to bring GOPe types back into the fold (including Republican PAC campaign money) and to win a big swing state, I suppose that I dislike Kasich the least.
