CNN anchor Carol Costellos apology is revealing.
... Why how? could a CNN anchor, a woman who is herself on record saying she was once assaulted by a boyfriend possibly have the reaction to the Bristol tape that she did?
The answer is that in reality, Costellos contempt has nothing to do with Bristol Palin. Nor, it should be noted, does it have anything to do with Sarah Palin. What this is really all about is another liberal elitist who, though not to the manor born herself, is attracted by the sense of moral, intellectual, and cultural superiority that is the defining if unspoken characteristic of modern American liberalism...

Go Bristol go! Be like you mom and fight like a girl! Destroy the lamestream media! Woo hoo! Take America back to its traditional values!
Liberals are cowards. They haven’t the guts to seek truth. They live in a World of preconceptions, and seek confirmation of those conceptions, not truths as they don’t want to face reality.
They imitate life well, but it’s only make believe. No substance. They pretend. They have no off switch. You have to yank their plug.
Ummm, yeah. Right.
It’s a class thing. I’ve thought that from the beginning about the liberal reaction to Sarah Palin. Very much like the 19th century Tory reaction to a politician who had not attended Eton or Harrow.
The modern American class system isn’t like most others that have ever existed. Nobody cares much who your parents or grandparents were. Witness Bill Clinton.
Where you went to college is more important. But Carol Costello went to Kent State, not exactly Ivy League.
But every class system has markers, factors that allow the aristoi to recognize “one of us.” In America that is largely “politically correct” political and social attitudes. Those who hold other POVs are by definition “the other,” bitterly clinging to guns and God.
In fact, their enormous self-satisfaction is largely based on the fact that they’re NOT what they think of as ordinary Americans. Their culture is largely based on antagonism to their own society.
Made me think of Luke 18: “The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.”
The Pharisees of Jesus’ day derived a great deal of their enormous self-satisfaction from being better than ordinary people. For them it ws based on minute attention to fulfilling the letter of the Law.
The liberals of today derive most of their immense satisfaction with themselves and other like them from being better than ordinary Americans. But with them it’s based on holding the right (or rather left) political viewpoint.
Which is why their belief system is so impervious to reason or evidence. Changing their minds involves giving up the equivalent of their religion and expulsion from the only group they consider worthy of belonging to.
The contempt they feel for non-elite minorities is obscured by their pretense of being on their side against the power structure. But it comes out in all its glory when deployed against non-elite white people.
You are right. Liberals have a huge ego. They want to be and are their own god (and that is one reason why so many of them reject the Christian god). They are not humble. They think that they have the character, intellect, wisdom and resources to lead the rest of us hoi poloi into a utopia run by them. Pride was the original sin and it is exemplified in people like Obama.
I wish someone would do some Three Stooges antics at their cocktail parties; e.g. bringing rodents to their buffet tables; throwing a few pies; etc. This would put a crimp in their snobbish behavior. It would be nice if someone secretly filmed such antics, too.
The contempt thing is far worse than the article describes, and it has a large sectional and cultural component. See the Jan. 2010 “Commentary” article on Sarah Palin, and the further closely linked articles in David Frum’s blog, in Gawker (by “Pareena”), and at www.jewschool.com (which usually treats of observance, Jewish identity, and related topics). Pay close attention to readers’ comments, many of which are incisive, illuminating, and edifying.
Libs are the true illogical, anti-science, racist, sexist, haters.
When we want Carol Costello’s opinion about ANYTHING, we’ll have her liberal boyfriend beat it out of her sneering horseface.
“It’s a class thing.”
“Perhaps that too. First, it’s an anti-Christian thing.”
And second, it’s a delusional-adolescent-psychotic thing.
IMHO
Does anyone REALLY care what Carol Costello says or thinks. Just another media whore looking for attention.
Yes! Yes!!! Dear God - YES!!!
After she sobers up.

worth repeating
Good post.
“Libs are the true illogical, anti-science, racist, sexist, haters.”

Spell out liberals rather than using libs and that should be written on every freeway overpass in the country. It is a basic truth on the level of saying the Sun rises in the East and sets in the West. They are not at all interested in what conservatives actually think, they spend their energy arguing against their own idea of what conservatives think. Their symbol should be the straw man.
Let’s hope Gov Palin’s tenure in the White House is succeeded by Bristol’s — that will be a slap in the liberal media’s collective face!
