Blasts in the Night, a Smell, and a Flood of Syrian Victims (Excruciating Details of Victims)

Thousands of sick and dying Syrians had flooded the hospitals in the Damascus suburbs before dawn, hours after the first rockets landed, their bodies convulsing and mouths foaming. Their vision was blurry and many could not breathe.

Overwhelmed doctors worked frantically, jabbing their patients with injections of their only antidote, atropine, hoping to beat back the assault on the nervous system waged by suspected chemical agents. In just a few hours, as the patients poured in, the atropine ran out.

To avoid contamination, medics stripped new arrivals down to their underwear and doused them with water before taking them inside.

New patients kept coming. One doctor from the town of Kafr Batna likened the scene to a horror movie, with cars bringing in entire families — fathers, mothers and children — all of them dead.

I tend to agree... I’ve having a hard time understanding why more “freedom fighters” (using the perverted libtard description for terrorists) weren’t killed in this government chemical attack. The whole episode is more likely to garner support for the rebels and lessen Russian willingness for continued assistance for Assad, which is why it makes little sense in my opinion.

On another thread, Jay Smarmy, WH spokes-hole essentially confirmed that the “rebels” themselves did it.

I have been hearing statements about how the attack was to big for the rebels to have faked or staged the video.

No one I know of is saying the attack was fake. I believe there was some form of chemical accident or attack.

I also know that islamists have a history of attacking their own people and trying to make it look like the enemy did it.

In Bosnia there were regular mortar attacks aimed at the muslims... The problem is the mortars where being shot by the muslims(and no I will not Capitalize the word muslim)

If I had to bet my life I would bet that it was done by the islamists to themselves(or their own people or innocents) in order to gain sympathy and give obama a way to help them.

THEY HAVE A HISTORY OF DOING SIMILAR THINGS

I have seen NO CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE pointing to who did this, and obama’s admin is talking like they are going to war over it. Oh and the UN inspectors are not going to make the call on which side did this, just that it occured? This is madness!

I really really dislike the people we have in the white house right now.

frustrated and angry and sickened by this jump to war.

Repost from another thread:

Let’s talk reality folks...Assad falls there’s going to be one hell of a battle over who gets to those WMDs first. And I promise you it ain’t gonna be pretty and it won’t be the good guys.

The only way to deal with this is to bomb the city of Damascus. It will be with the bunker busters and it will be the entire city as evidence is mounting the WMD’s were launched by the rebel forces and are hidden in the tunnels under Damascus.

What you are hearing from flip-flop Kerry is pure propaganda. The Obama administration is scared gutless over the fact that they facilitated al-queda and their factions to obtain WMD’s by supporting this crazy Arab Spring idea.

And yes...WW3...the Biblical one. Isaiah 17.

“Do the rebels have the ability to deploy such weapons?”

Piece of cake. In WWI most of the chemical munitions were delivered by artillery. The MB/AQ in Syria have that and rocket launchers. Then all it takes is projectiles that can disperse the agents.

I can’t see Assad having done this. He had nothing to gain and everything to lose. He may be a despot but he isn’t stupid. To have done this would be to play directly into obastard’s hand.

Like in the past, early rumors usually turn out to be late facts. Early after Benghazi the rumor was it was a gun or rocket running operation cover up. I believe that is what it will be in the end as well. All orchestrated by obastard.

Early rumors in this event are that the rebels did it to their own people and were helped by the obastard. The reason? They are his buddies. He is on a jihad with what he considers to be his own personal military force, ours.

All bad. All bad.

There are queries about the veracity of this:

their bodies convulsing and mouths foaming

But there were no signs of that, in the corpses displayed in the photographs. The pictures were of strangely relaxed and peaceful bodies, unmarked by the distortions of the face, and bodily fluids, one would expect to see.

There was not even any signs of rigor mortis. I looked at the relaxed feet of the "Syrian corpses" in one photo, and I wondered why the bodies did not have that contraction of the muscles which makes dead men "turn up their toes."

I did wonder if these were living people, posing. This would also explain why they could be unembalmed in the Syrian summer heat, but not decomposing within hours, as a corpse will do.

To avoid contamination, medics stripped new arrivals down to their underwear and doused them with water before taking them inside.

With most chemical warfare agents, one needs a lot more than that to be safe from decontamination. Water would only add to the problem, it would spread the poison.

Re: “It is easy to understand why the Syrian opposition would be motivated to do this and attach blame to the regime.”

That is sort of a moot point, Katana, now that Israel has revealed that they have intercepted Syrian messages, real-time, about the chemical attacks. Is Israel lying to help Obama? That doesn’t quite make sense. You can read the news here:
http://www.latimes.com/world/worldnow/la-fg-wn-syria-israel-intelligence-chemical-attack-20130827,0,1940412.story

Germany’s Focus magazine said Saturday that Israel’s secretive signals intelligence agency, Unit 8200, eavesdropped on a conversation between senior Syrian officials about use of chemical agents.

On Friday, Israel’s Channel 2 reported that rockets containing chemical agents were fired by the 155th Brigade of the 4th Armored Division, a division under the command of the Syrian president’s brother, Maher Assad.

The shells were reportedly fired from a military base in a mountain range west of Damascus, the news channel said, without disclosing its sources.

If this pans out, there is even less reason to believe that the rebels somehow stole the Russian missiles that carried the chemical warhead — and then aimed it at themselves? That’s a bit of a stretch, isn’t it?

When Detroit's not a hellhole...

And Chicago's not a killing field...

And the United States isn't broke...

THEN and only then - should we consider sticking our noses into things that are NOT our concern.

If the United States went there - and stood with Al Qaeda - (and that's who we would be standing with )... what's the best case possible?

That Al Qaeda would be grateful?

That a different group of crazies could now use chemical weapons on the old group?

Or maybe we could share our freedoms - like the TSA or NSA reading our emails and listening into our phone conversations. Yeah, I'm sure the world 'yearns to be ... abused'...

We have nothing to offer them - they have nothing to offer us.

Zbignew Brzezinski, a well-known US political analyst and statesman of Polish descent, who can hardly be suspected of supporting Russian policies elsewhere, literally said in an interview with MSNBC right on the eve of the G8 summit:

“The West is absolutely engaging in mass propaganda by portraying the Syrian conflict as a fight for democracy when many of the rebels want anything but. They pledge allegiance to Al-Qaeda, explicitly call for Sharia law, kill thousands of Christians, use terrorist tactics yet our corrupt media and political class pretend arming them will produce democracy.”

I trust Assad.

I hadn’t seen that story as I’ve been traveling overseas on business the past couple weeks and not able to pay daily close attention. Thanks for the update. I still find it difficult to understand why the regime would do this. But except for some of their mathematicians a thousand years ago logic has never exactly been an Arab strong suit.
