project confidence from more than just having a “smart” answer.

How much confidence did he project when he waqs stumbleing at trying to think up an answer on lybia or right of return or when he awskeed Newt to go ahead an take that question because he had no idea what it was about. He's a nice guy but this thing is getting to big for him fast. He is in over his head!!!

***I would like to see a Gingrich/Cain ticket emerge.***

Yes indeed. And I would also like to read FReeper comments that reflect the mutual respect Newt and Herman Cain showed during their debate.

That was an inspiring duo - with policy and principles on display.

Do you think they actually believe that their constant belittling attacks on Newt is doing their candidate any good? Sure hope they are not really stupid enough to think screaming and yelling and stamping their feet is going to change any minds. I have nothing against Cain but he sure could use a smarter bunch of supporters here at FR. All this crew is doing is turning everyone undecided off on Cain.

How is it attacks to simply post the facts of Newt’s long history of liberal voting and policy making? He has made some real bad choices in his career and I’m not even talking about his personal moral failings.

"He defends himself quite well."

The world is coming to an end, the debt, not just ours but everyones' is going to cause society to implode shortly. So if for no other reason then simply being entertained while we await our doom I think we should vote Newt. Newt is easily the most entertaining candidate out there and can explode progress heads at will. The other day he reduced Meagan MaCain to gibberish in one line! lol, Go Newt!

Newt is on the rise... GOOD. I like seeing Romney failing.

I wanted to say something nice about Cain, but having read many of the typical cultish responses from ‘some’ of the Cain folks, I am no longer inclined to do so.

Cain:

Newt:

Newt 2012....

Cain projecting confidence while not just giving a “smart answer”.

Well for starters how about Newt does not have a long history of liberal voting and policy making? He has over the last 40 plus years wander off the reservation from time to time. More the exception then the rule but to take those exceptions and say the exceptions define the man is well disingenuous.

Why are you blasting people for supporting a true conservative? First of all if Cain, Santorum or Bachmann are not chosen then I am writing one of them in. I do not want a liberal Republican to run for President. Sorry that is just the way it is. You are the one FREEPER who has to give others a hard time. You are such a bully.

Nope, there are those of us out here who are realizing that Newt is the rght person to solve what ails this country. Nothing manufactured about that, it’s common sense.

At a time when we are facing financial armageddon how can people be so concerned about the man being married several times?

Morals are way more important politics. Go Cain!!!! The most moral candidate we have. Newt is the most immoral!!!!! I don’t want a President who does not take marriage seriously. How can he argue for DOMA and be against gay marriage when he treats marriage like an old sock. He would be the biggest hypocrite ever and that is why he would never bring it up.

Since most Americans do not support Obamacare, what’s your view of how Newt’s support for an individual mandate to purchase health insurance might affect his candidacy in the general election?

You lie. I hear him say just last night that he supports the repeal of Obamacare and supports the lawsuit brought by 26 states to repeal the individual mandate.

I think Gingrich/Cain is the best ticket possible for this election. Each has shown the ability to handle the greatest threat to honest elections, ie the hostile, enemy media. This is not a joke. They are abundant, influential, and potentially powerful adversaries to everything which is best about America.

Without the complicit anti-American media, Obama would be an unknown who gave a long, forgettable speech at a convention in 2004. Think about that. If these slime balls can sell obama they can un-sell someone else just as easily. They are a greater danger to the Republic than the DNC is.

Cain gets this, but nobody can handle them like Gingrich. Romney and Perry, Bachmann, etc, are putty in their hands. To be "electable," when you get right down to it, means being able to overcome the malignant media assault on your campaign.
