President Obama’s long-form birth certificate is being released, the White House announced today.
The larger point here is that they are rattled. By the rules of politics they should be ignoring this stuff, but I’m guessing the internal polls have them worried.

They just showed it on MSNBC. Looks real and nothing new on it that I could see.

The White House released President Obama's original birth certificate Wednesday. The surprise release follows recent and sustained remarks by businessman Donald Trump, among others, that raised doubts as to whether the president was born in the United States.
In an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper Monday, Trump repeated his doubts and said he had been told the certificate was "missing."
A new CNN investigation revealed earlier this week what most analysts have been saying since the "birther" controversy erupted during the 2008 presidential campaign: Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961. While the president has made light of the controversy, the question remained political red meat for some of his critics. A recent CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll showed that nearly 75% of Americans believe Obama was definitely or probably born in the United States. More than four in 10 Republicans, however, believe he probably or definitely was not born in America.
The U.S. Constitution says only "natural born" citizens can become president - a vague clause that some members of the birther movement contend disqualifies Obama because, they insist, he was born outside the United States. Skeptics contend, among other things, that Obama was born in his father's home country of Kenya.
It will be nothing different than we have already seen. The WH blog is saying the doc the campaign showed in 08 is supposedly what all Hawaiian’s recieve. Same old bullcrap.
If he had it all along, why release it only NOW?

I doubt this will satisfy anyone.
If it was as easy as announcing a presser and showing the form, why didn’t he do it sooner?
The delay will be seen as an effort at a cover up.
You can bet there will be countless experts and even some “Buckheads” trying to poke holes in the document.
In stringing this out, they tried to be too cute by half and it’s backfired.
So why did he spend millions preventing its release? And whose money was it?
Oh yes ... the signature block looks awfully MODERN... Father’s race .... AFRICAN???? c’mon
Not really a “Birther”, but don’t insult our intelligence.
His father was a Kenyan student. I doubt if he was a citizen.
Anyone think maybe this release today is, at least in part, timed to distract people and media from Bernacki news conference?
