Meat Increases the Risk of Alzheimers Disease Extensive evidence points to the rich Western diet as the fundamental cause of Alzheimers disease: Worldwide, the incidence of AD [Alzheimers disease] is more common among people who follow meat- and dairy-centered diets, than among those people who eat a more plant-based diet. Dr. John McDougall, McDougall Wellness Center
Indeed, a flood of research shows that the toxins in meat, including chicken and fish, increase your risk of developing Alzheimers disease, while the antioxidants in vegetables help prevent this deadly disease. Click here to learn more.
In the wake of former President Ronald Reagans death, there has been a flurry of public discussion about Alzheimers disease and the Reagan familys push for stem-cell research. The public would also benefit from being informed that Alzheimers, although not currently curable, can be prevented. What better way to alert the public than with a billboard campaign that features a respectful image of President Reagan, calling on the public to Win One for the Gipper by adopting a vegetarian diet?
This is a personal crusade for Vegan Campaign Coordinator Matt Rice, who lost his grandmother to Alzheimers a little more than a year ago. Rice had the idea of using President Reagans image and petitioning Mrs. Reagan for support. Like Nancy Reagan, he wants to end the terrible and rapidly growing plague of Alzheimers disease.
Our loved ones dont have to suffer like this, says Rice. Research has shown that Alzheimers disease is as preventable as heart disease. It is caused by our addiction to meat and other animal products.
PETA asked the American public what it thinks of the campaign, and after reviewing the evidence that meat causes Alzheimer's, 73 percent said, "Run the billboard." Many of those who want us to run the board also wrote to us. One man from North Carolina wrote, "I just visited PETA's Web site and saw the 'Win One for the Gipper' billboard and related story. I voted, 'Yes'-I emphatically urge you to place this billboard across America. I understand that PETA may experience some resistance to the use of President Reagan's picture and thus am taking the time to also let you know that many of us who have been affected by this horrific disease are cheering you on. I thank you for exposing potential Alzheimer's sufferers to this important scientific information."
So, by popular demand, the new billboard will be run nationwide to alert people to an important way to prevent Alzheimer's disease.
Eat meat and get Alzheimers by the age of 90 ... Or follow PETA, don't eat meat and suffer mental retardation straight away. Decisions, decisions.
I know what you mean!
The left continues to "overplay its hand," with statements and actions which may make them feel good (by stoking their hate) but which alienate everyone else.
What is the most common condition for people 93 years after their birth? Dead and buried for a good number of years! Death - the ultimate Alzheimers.
Eat meat and live to be 93!
Right!
Using Reagan as an example for PETA is deeply offensive to all Americans who respected and loved him. Has PETA no decency at long last? Let Reagan rest in peace.
If PETA's arguement is to stop people from eating animals, because they are living things, and have "rights", then why not ban eating plants too?
They really stepped on the old crank this time. Their core constituency will be offended by the Reagan reference, and Reagan lovers will, um, be offended by the Reagan reference (being used by a socialist leaning group). Way to make friends, PETA!
An organization that likens the transportation of animals to transportation of Jews to the death camps wouldn't really have any scruples, would they?
I hadn't heard about that PETA ad/slogan. I guess nothing's beneath them, and using Reagan should be no surprise.
Isn't tofu linked to some mental illness? Seriously.

Great catch. I knew there was something wrong with soy but couldn't put my finger on it. BTW - I have heard that MacDonald's uses a soy filler when making their hamburgers.
Hey, I like your blog. Thanks for the Reagan notation.
