Yes! And I [the author] say this as someone who served in an army that boasts about its female soldiers.
So I hope that even if you disagree with me, you'll bear with me and read till the end…
FACT TIME
* The Israeli defense forces stopped using actual female combat soldiers after 1948. This was when they noticed that coed combat units suffered close to 50% higher casualty rates than all male units, and were worlds less effective when it came to mission completion.
* Due to this fact, women were barred from all combat roles in the IDF until several co-ed units were created in 1990 at the behest of progressive politicians.
* The remaining co-ed infantry units in the IDF are purely ornamental.
The males who joined these units join them because they couldn't cut it to be in the regular combat units, the females who join these units are the cream of the crop and still are outperformed by the substandard males.
I could go on and on about the inherent biological differences making men stronger and more durable than women, but at the end of the day, the biggest factor is our biological programming to be protective of women, not the fact that we can lift more than they do.
If a tribe or a village loses half its male population in a war, they can bounce back. But if that same tribe or village loses half of their female population, then they will not survive the next generation. I would even make the case that man's desire to protect his mother, his wife, his children and grandchildren born and unborn; are our biggest driving factors for putting ourselves out there and doing it dangerous job because it needs to be done.

If you think those female firefighters couldn’t be replaced by better-qualified men, then you probably think that professional female soccer players could beat a high school boy’s team.

I believe its a relatively new phenomenon since the age of constant media with constant sexual messages have sadly destroyed the leadership and the character of modern men...its all deliberate IMO...

Women in combat, who are captured; will be sex slaves to the captor.
Their fighting company, will take suicidal actions to prevent this; roles which are definitely not reciprocal. Women cannot carry the weight that a man can, and will not be as effective in action. This is the harsh reality that Israel learned
During Operation Desert Storm, we had a female soldier captured and abused. She was given considerations NO OTHER soldier would expect. This is a reality of life

If you think the author's and my conclusion is that women should be barred from the military then you did not read the linked article, while reading more into my comments. As female nurses, secretaries and other in certain non-combat positions exampled in WW2, there is a place for women in military, but not in combat, nor in leadership over men. And not in diverting them from being the married mother of children, which is their normative God-ordained function, and are uniquely suited for.

I’m proud of my great-aunt who served as an Army nurse in WWII in the European Theater. She was a sweet southern lady who was also strong and not easily rattled. But she’d never have considered going into combat.
I recall reading that with women in combat, it puts males at risk due to their inherent nature to protect them vs. focusing on the enemy.

No Combat Arms, Combat Crews, or in cockpits that go into harm’s way. No ships or boats at all...EVER. Nurses and doctors allowed to be the closest to the fighting. Hospital ships allowed as well.
The military is not supposed to be available for a career for women and thus they be allowed to be in combat or lead combat troops of any kind. The whole premise and subsequent lowering of standards was to allow women into the MOSs/AFSCs to further their careers rather than fight wars.
Sorry ladies, but if you want into the military you should understand the limitations if you want to stay in. Women should NEVER be allowed into combat.
Yes, the relationship between men and women is, or should be symbiotic for God made man and women distinctively different yet uniquely compatible and complementary (and only joined them together in marriage - as the Lord Jesus Himself specified - Mt. 19:4–6), and that complementarianism means that there are certain functional and positional distinctions relative to their design. While both can fulfill most of both functions and positions (some better than others), yet that is not best suited to their God-given design.
I read that many women in the military just happen to get pregnant just before they are to be sent out to sea on subs for 6 months.

As cited, it is a direct quote from the Bible, which verse (1CO.11.3) you could have looked up and read if you cared to do so (it is even in your poor official Bible), and is no more in conflict with the Trinity than the head of the woman being the man is in conflict with "there is neither...male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." (Galatians 3:28)
Why is this non-contradiction apparently unknown to you, (which impugns being Catholic) as that you think 1CO.11.3 is non-trinitarian?
Positional distinctions does not translate into different natures, and the Son who now functionally rules the universe (Acts 2:34-36) until He subdues all His enemies and hands the reigns back to the Father (1 Corinthians 15:25) - has the same uniquely divine nature as the Father and the Spirit, and is attested to as being God, as they are, yet composed as One.
That is no more a contradiction than asking why there are jails for the reckless drivers when man is programmed for self-preservation. And you should keep both abusers of women out of the military, as well as their prey in close quarters.

I never could get past the gender bending during my time in the US Army. It’s a big reason why I strongly disliked the Army and regretted joining. I never really did “feel like a man.” Now I can say I do. The company I work for as a civilian is virtually all male (except for a few secretaries).
