(Comet week continues) Explanation: Comet NEOWISE has been wowing photographers around much of the world during dawn and dusk, at the margins of day and night. For the most northern residents of planet Earth, however, the comet circles the North Star and never sets. The night part of this circular arc is apparent in the featured composite of images assembled from a webcam located at a ski resort in the Swiss Alps. Images were selected at 30-minute intervals throughout the night from July 12th -13th. Comet NEOWISE (C/2020 F3) will continue to become more accessible to northern hemisphere observers as its motion places it higher in the sky each evening after sunset over the next few weeks, as it begins its outbound journey. As with all comets, departure from the inner Solar System comes with inevitable fading. Binoculars are the best way to find and observe the comet visually.

“Ten RVs? That was a fully loaded Peacekeeper!”
Don’t jump to a false conclusion.
Peacekeeper?
Peacekeeper?
May be a reference to Farscape.
Or Star Wars
“Peacekeeper” is the nickname of the MX missile which is equipped with MIRV’s.
Up to 10 warheads on one missile. We had 50 of them online at one point. Made the Soviets very nervous.
Beautiful!
WOW!
Which means the nightly clouds will just have to climb higher each evening. Tonight I drove out to a darker area. Clear sky except for a big ass cloud bank in the NNW. Couldn't see the Bug Dipper or the near it.
Bug Dipper is a summer constellation where the bowl reaches down to earth to scoop up all the mosquitos trying to eat me when I look at it.
I have found it the last couple of nights over the town of Beaufort, SC. Have to look quick because the lights of the town make it hard to see, so, I have to catch it between sunset and losing it in the glare.
Its a nice comet! Make an effort to see it. You need a very low NE horizon, some binos and patience.
that was me last night, but, I managed to catch a peak in a sucker hole.
If you can see the “three leaps of the gazelle” you can follow them to the comet.
