I like my bologna fried (and burnt) with mustard between two slices of bread.

Lasagne comes from Bologna? Well there ya go. Lasagna has a thick meat sauce. That’s how it all began, Dopey Mayor.

He should be happy people aren’t ordering bologna sandwiches.

I lived on baloney and Braunschweiger sandwiches as a kid--along with Swanson's frozen chicken à la King, served over toasted Wonderbread or white rice. But in Italy, the sausage isn't called Bologna or baloney. The Italians call it mortadella.

I make spaghetti bolognese with ground buffalo meat. It’s leaner than beef and to me, it tastes better.

The best spaghetti bolognese I ever had was in London...although the restaurant was staffed 90% by Italians.

Probably just as well. The expression "English cuisine" is said to be a good example of an oxymoron.

If you want to get really sick arrive at the Bologna train station. The most disgusting graffiti smeared and filthy train station in Italy.

This Mayor is a snob and a tool. No wonder he is a “Democrat”. Italians have been cooking meat sauces (ragu) for over a hundred years, perhaps centuries. Recipes and names and the types of pasta it is served over obviously vary but to make it sound as if something more or less similar does not exist in Italy is a grandstanding exaggeration IMO.

I hear you. The entry to Italy from Austria (or Switzerland) was disgusting.

I was shocked, but this was in 1985. Still.

Spaghetti trees take more than almond trees to get to the harvest.

When it’s done right, like you mentioned 6-8 hours it’s amazing. Otherwise, I really hate ‘red sauce’ with pasta.

Hey compadre! Don’t you see that this is a perfect opportunity ?
Some enterprising young upstart can open a restaurant that sells “spaghetti bolognese” and make a fortune.

Also, noodles Alfredo.

I prefer the alfredo type sauces. The best food I sampled in Italy was in the truck stops, but I’m an American. There they had a dish very similar to what I like. It was penne pasta with chicken in an alfredo like sauce and mushrooms. It was so good. Their panini was great too.
