Probably Brits. Spag Bol is one of the first things a college kid in England is taught to make. When I used to visit Sicily, you would see Spag Bol with Chips on the menu.

And Bloody Watney's Red Barrel.

Bologna invented tagliatelle, tortellini and lasagne.

Is he a waiter, too? Would anyone ask the mayor that question?

Nowadays, I can’t dissociate Hammond with the episode filmed in India where Jeremy Clarkson drives behind Hammond and blasts Genesis’ I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe) over a loud PA attached to his vehicle, and Hammond comments on the bridge of the song saying, “Aah, I hate that bit … it’s that bit!”

That’s because most only eat the least expensive sort.

The best food is at its heart inexpensive common fare for it all comes from days when people made due. In many cases still making due not all that long ago. Great cooking is not just the hoity toity of the rare in small portions but what elevates the ordinary without making it rare.

Bologna is not one of the meats I want in my spaghetti sauce.

And the only decent place to get a hamburger in Hamburg is Burger King. Looks like the one on Eifelstrasse is open until 2 AM; the others close at midnight.

All I know is that this article has made me hungry.

Me too. As far as I know spaghetti Bolognese means a meat filled tomato sauce on top of spaghetti or pasta. I looked up the Wiki to find out more and it is more complicated. Gotta give the Italians credit here! Last time I ate it was delicious.

What does the mayor have to say about french fries or belgian waffles or swedish meatballs or....you get the idea.

Remember watching an episode of Top Gear. Richard Hammond wants nothing except to eat spaghetti bolognese in Bologna and can’t find anyplace to eat it.

lol Says it all.

If I think about the homemade sicilian pizza and cavatelli mom made when we were kids, I drool.

Best pizza I ever had.

Best meatballs were from grandma Rose would would spend hours on a saturday grating hard italian bread for bread crumbs for the meats on Sunday.

He could have just as easily endorsed the dish and improved the local economy.
