CUCUTA, COLOMBIA Marili Gómez was eight months pregnant with twins in her hometown of Valencia, Venezuela, when her doctor gave her stark advice: She could either take an 18-hour bus ride and seek care in neighboring Colombia or lose the babies.
As she sat in a bare, second-story walk-up in this Colombian border town feeding the newborns, Gómez said she didn’t have to think about the decision very long. Just weeks before that doctor’s visit, she’d lost her 16-year-old son to Venezuela’s violence — he was stabbed more than a dozen times in what police believe was a robbery.
“I had no choice,” she said of the dangerous journey. “I wanted my babies to live.”
Venezuela’s stunning economic collapse — going from one of the hemisphere’s most prosperous countries to the region’s basket case — is starting to have ripple effects in neighboring nations.
In particular, its crumbling healthcare system is generating waves of medical refugees. And while Colombia doesn’t keep track of national figures, hospitals along the border say they’ve been swamped with cases.

Medical tourism - its already a reality in the USA. Because of our socialism, its often much cheaper (and sometimes faster) to travel to have procedures done.

At one time Colombians, Guyanese, Ecuadorians crossed the border into Venezuela looking for work. Now it is the opposite.
They drive 18 hours each way to buy groceries in Brazil. They work in Colombia’s oil industry. They, per this article, go to Colombia to see a doctor. Their engineers have scattered to the world taking their expertise with them.
California’s future if they ever seceded. The lefties ruining everything in the Golden State have the same mindset as the Venezuelan government.
They are now the “Mexico of South America”, exporting people.
Communism as practiced is, in reality, the return of a feudal system but using different labels for the rulers.
And yet Venezuela co-sponsored the UN Resolution to deny the Land of Israel to Jews....Jesus said: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”
We were one more presidential term of the Dummycrats away from this.

That’s what the influence from hell that crafted this system intended, even if it fooled some of the people that were its tools. Some superficial nice things.
If done WITHOUT the Obamacare built in subsidy, plans might end up being reasonable things again. My employer has an Obamacare exemption and, while one needs to be careful in picking the plan, one can get a fair catastrophic plan for almost nothing if one is well set enough to pay for the rest out of pocket. So who’s going to look after the poor. Believe it or not, I don’t believe they are all incorrigible bums, nor that they shouldn’t get a hand up. I believe charity is great, and when churches do it, it really points up the blessings of God to the recipients, who can then ride that spiritual updraft to a better future life. However I don’t want those blankety blank agents of “Caesar” to have their hand in the till, profiting as proud do-gooders.
Lets not forget that Jimmeh (the peanut farmer) Carter played his usual part in supporting the commiescum takeover of Venezuela.
That’s what I would pray too, in the many cases where it applies. Short sighted people cannot see the path of sacrifice and greater gain that leads to heaven. If our Pallie pals (let’s leave off the quibbles about terminology for now, we all know what is meant) overran the place, it wouldn’t be the blooms-from-the-desert place any more. By letting Jews be the custodians, they see amazing benefits, albeit at the cost of their pride (which is whipped up worse by supposedly well meaning lefties). They are the fighters who are needlessly getting uptighter, and they are being pushed around by the hateful “Allah” (a name stolen from earlier Arabic use in more classic Christianity) of Islam. If Christians, especially, can knock this hateful “Allah” sprawling, many enraged Muslims would lose their rage and even begin worshiping differently.
He did a lot of short sighted things. No wonder his America was all malaised.
