A whale nearly swallowed two people on a kayak and a woman on a surfboard.
The humpback whale lunged from out of nowhere just several feet away, forcing thousands of anchovies to the surface, with sea gulls swarming around the scene in search of breakfast.
Barbara Roettger filmed the epic near-miss event near Santa Cruz, California where recently a sailboat collided with another humpback whale and at least one kayaker capsized.
Oh, and for the record, humpback whales typically are about 50 feet long and weigh 50 tons. Thats a whopping 2000 pounds for every foot of whale.

I somewhat doubt that. It’s my understanding that it would be impossible for a baleen whale to swallow a human as their throats are surprisingly narrow...

The whale seemed closer to the videographer than the surfer and kayak.

Yeah, I don’t think they can actually swallow anything larger than a soccer ball. I’m sure they could kill you by knocking you into the water maybe, but swallow you? Nope.

That didn’t seem to be so much an “Almost got swallowed by a whale!” as much as it was a “Wow! That was wicked awesome!”

Swallow ?
How many headlines on this story have I seen them use word “swallow”?
Unless the human is the size of a smelt and can fit through the Baleen, he aint going to be flicking his bic in the belly of a wale.

I think the whales staging a revolt. This must be the 50th time I've hear of a whale attacking a kayak and surfer this week.
