The event took place after the interview on CSPANs Washington Journal where Ridge took a strong stance, supporting Colin Powell and blaming Limbaugh and Dick Cheney for having a mindset, that doesnt foster unity.

Okay, let me get this straight. A guy who wants unity just "evicted" a fellow Republican, and then publicly berated another? Exactly what the hell does Tom Ridge define "unity" as?

We don’t want unity.
We want national security.
We want economic security.
We don’t want MARXISM

And there are still pure partisans who will swear that the GOP isn't actively trying to shed conservatives.

Satire, but nonetheless Tom Ridge is slightly less dynamic and charismatic than a cigar store Indian.

suggest you change this title to include the term satire- or you will make people more ticked off at TomRidge than they need to be

Doesn’t unity have to come from the people who turn on you?
Doesn’t unity have to come first from the guy who crossed the party line in the first place?
Rush is right where he has always been, and in terms of GOP fundamental principles, its right where I have generally always been as well. Powell walked away from those principles, Rush didn’t and I didn’t. Powell obviously wasn’t that worried about “party unity” when he did that.
I, on the other hand, am very worried about party unity. I want the party to know what it believes in and work to advance what it believes in. If Powell believes those things, too, then he’s welcome. If he doesn’t believe in those fundamental principles then he’d probably be happier in the other party. The one he voted for.
