Do you carry a revolver? What kind and why?
Taurus .38 for my concealed.
Ditto in the lightweight titanium model.
Why do you want to know? Do you intend to mug me?
When I carry a revolver it’s a Ruger Sp-101 in .357.
A bit heavy, but utterly reliable.

That depends. Are you carrying enough money to make it worth the mugging? :)
Logic would dictate for concealed carry.
Small, five shot, light, has a punch (357), enclosed hammer...
I have several S&W J-Frames, and occasionally carry them, but never felt comfy with just 5 rounds. I have an S&W 627 snubby .357 with 8 rounds capacity and moon clips. It’s a tad thicker, but about the same weight and footprint as my 1911. I often carry it in colder months.
But my main carry is a Glock G26.
One advantage of snubby revolvers is that you can safely carry them in your pocket. Nobody thinks twice about a guy walking along with his hands in his pockets, particularly when it’s cold. And the fastest draw is when you already have it in your hand.
Re #7:
Ah, there’s the rub. I have a five shot Taurus .357 (loaded with .38 hollow). The problem is that with the enclosed hammer it’s difficult to keep it in place in a holster. There’s nothing for a strap to grab onto and I don’t need it tumbling onto the floor.
When out hiking or at various functions, my wife open carries a Colt Python. She can’t handle automatics, and is darn accurate with the .357.
One more point on the “extra” weight of the Ruger. It helps absorb some of the recoil. I load it with .38 +P cartridges. Anything more is just wasted powder.

Find a better holster.
Or just put it in your front pocket.
When And If I can carry..
Match Champion by RUGER.
4” stainless using .38 +P hollowpoints.
I’m a lousy shot and Magnums are rough.
Unfortunately all of my weapons were tragically lost during a freak boating accident
During the summer when I’m wearing cargo shorts, it fits in the front pocket nicely. S&W 640. When it’s cooler and I can wear a jacket I carry a Browning Hi-Power. We’re open carry with a licence here in TX so mostly I carry a Hi-Power in a thumb break half holster on the hip.
My Ruger has a 1-1/2 inch barrel. Shooting magnum rounds through it is just silly. Turns it into a flamethrower and there’s not much more velocity to speak of. I’ve tested it with my chronograph.

Only in the winter time when I’m in an old fashioned mood.
Full size nickle plated Taurus Falcon service revolver in a leather shoulder holster. .38 Special hollow points.
(My EDC is a Taurus PT111G2, followed by a CZ-82 and a Keltec P-11.)
I occasionally carry a S&W m&p340. Why? Because it weighs like 13 oz. and is so easy to conceal and carry. Sometimes I carry S&W 327 Nightguard because it’s also lightweight and easy to conceal but it gives me 8 shots instead of the 5 shots that the 340 gives me and it’s easier to shoot accurately. The 340 saved my ass once.
