My Ruger has a 1-1/2 inch barrel. Shooting magnum rounds through it is just silly. Turns it into a flamethrower and there’s not much more velocity to speak of. I’ve tested it with my chronograph.

And I've never had a revolver jam on me, either (except a .44 I have that had the bullets back out because I ignored every article ever written that says you need a HEAVY crimp on heavy hand loads). EVERY semi-auto pistol I've ever fired more than 50 rounds through has jammed on me, and most of the other firearms I've ever shot - pistol, rifle or shotgun.
Mr. Murphy waits in hiding until I'm holding a loaded gun. :-)
