There is a LOT on TV about the Revolutionary War recently. Check the History Channel, The American Heros Channel, THe H2 Channel, and the Smithsonian Channel. As a consequence, I'm setting the DVR a lot and spending too much time watching TV and enjoying every minute of it. Lots of snoozing too, which means that I have to watch the program over again!

Just attended Alafia Rendezvous this weekend here.

Re-enactment camp for the period 1770-1840 - and it was marvelous!

The Bride scored a canvas tent this weekend: 10’x15’ with a 5’ awning and set up for an iron stove! And she got them down to half the price of the tent!

That tent is going to see extensive service...

Yeah, I’ve got “Big History” disks running today, and the episode about domestication of the horse had a Paul Revere seg in it. The series is pretty retarded, but has some good info in it. A little too “gee whiz” and too many broad claims. And of course, even the talking heads work the phrase “Big History” into everything they say. It’s annoying.

Wow...sixteen year old Sybil Ludington, commissioned by her father, rode 40 miles starting at 9 PM on a cold, rainy April night to warn Danbury, CT. What an unsung heroine. I wonder what she did during the war and after.
