“Would you believe,” as Maxwell Smart, Secret Agent 86, used to say, that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin knows more about American history than the members of what Rush Limbaugh calls “the drive-by media,” who are currently making fun of her?
Probably not. But she does, at least as far as Paul Revere’s ride is concerned.
Palin recently said that Revere, as part of his famous ride, warned the British that they would have a fight on their hands if they tried to seize the caches of arms and ammunition that the colonists had hidden at places like Lexington and Concord. “Hah Hah,” the media said. “Everybody knows that Revere rode through ‘every Middlesex village and town’ to warn the colonists that the British were coming,” the media said. “What an idiot,” the media said. Uh huh.
Palin has read American history. The media must have only read Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s famous poem—which is no more the definitive account of Revere’s famous ride than Oliver Stone’s JFK is the true story of the Kennedy assassination. [See photos from Palin's bus tour.]

I am seeing all kinds of people bashing her now online. Mostly lefties but one guy I probably suggest is otherwise a-political. These smears really piss me off because the left does a hell of a job shaping the battlefield and eliminating solid candidates.
They did something similar during the Delaware election. I forget the topic, but during one of the debates, O’donnell correctly quoted the constitution, and a bunch of law students in the audience laughed at her answer, even though O’Donnell was completely correct. Somehow the left has so dumbed down people that they ignore fact to tow the line.
She was probably still trying to get her history straightened out in terms of how President FDR went on national TV in 1929 in response to the Wall Street crash or any of several other imaginary events that Joe Biden taught us in 2008.
I love Sarah and my tag line used to be “Sarah Palin 1/20/2013”
That said...her comment of:
“Part of his ride was to warn the British that were already there. That, hey, you’re not going to succeed. You’re not going to take American arms. You are not going to beat our own well-armed persons, individual, private militia that we have. He did warn the British.”
This infers that Revere INTENDED to warn the British, which he did not. Revere only warned them after he’d been captured, something that Revere’s own words speak to.
Paul Revere most certainly did NOT set out on his ride with the intent to warn the British. Sarah needs to ‘mea culpa’ on this one and move on. There’s an election to win and bogging down on this thing is not going to help.

If and when she announces she is actually RUNNING for president, she can tell the press to go f themselves.

It has gotten so bad with the media, it is time to start taking them out. This is not reporting, this is not reflection or reiteration, it is simply malicious. It is no accident either or one from stupidity...it is simply a onesided lynching of any candidate they abhor and they disquise their hatred, openly I might add, by attacking credibility or making the conservative a butt of a joke.
The recent attacks on Breitbart over his reporting on Weinergate is typical. Not only did they accuse him of planting the pictures by way of a hack, they refused to admit being wrong and only after being directly confronted by him, did they begrudingly begin asking Weiner some direct questions.
Sara Palin is a student of History and should be saluted for her historical acumen which many of our presidents reconize as a skill that is necessary for a President.

I entered college in 1961 which was the 100th anniversary of the Civil War. During my college years I looked up to the likes of Martin Luther King and despised the tyrnaical Democrats. The Southeran Democrats when they took control of their communities after the Civil War crreated the Ku Klux Klan, Poll Taxes and separate schools to keep the Blacks as second class citizens. Growing up I had Negro Friends and found comfort in the GOP!
History as recently stated on the Fox Report, is not taught and we all, as a society suffer!

Oh I think she should say that NOW when she hasn’t even announced. The coverage of Palin has been akin to a pre-emptive pogrom. I was watching CNN last week and the woman anchor said something about Palin and actually rolled her eyes after saying it! I could not believe a network anchor would do such a thing yet there it was!
Those people hate her so much I just can’t get my head around it. They’ve got undying love for every nutbar muslim preaching hatred but for Sarah Palin whose only crime is loving her country it seems the libtards have absolutely no limits on how much venom they can spew at her.
