Too Much Cleavage for Prom, or Discrimination?
Fox News ^ | 6/5/13 | Fox News Insider

Washington high school senior Brittany Minder was hoping for a memorable prom night, and that's exactly what she got ... just not for the reasons she anticipated. School officials at the dance told Minder that she had one choice: she could either cover up her cleavage, or go home, telling her that her dress was in violation of their dress code.

The code allows for strapless dresses, but cleavage and midriffs must be covered. Minder argues that she was unfairly targeted because of her size and that she's limited as to what she can do to 'cover up.'

"I feel that it's because I am bigger chested, and there is more cleavage that you can see, and I don't know what I can do about that," she told a local reporter. "I felt self-conscious, and it took the magic out of the night."

I meant she was a ditz not to realize the dress would not meet the dress code which were very clearly stated by the school.

That is a low cut dress. If she had bought a dress that actually fit her I doubt it would have been a problem. Whoever sold her that dress should give her a refund for selling her the wrong size.

you get a dress that doesn’t show the cleavage, that’s what you do.

The dress is too small. Look at the waistline and arm pits. The "idiot educrat" let her into the prom because she could cover up with the shawl. She chose to leave after an hour. The school made an exception and let her in.

don’t know why some freepers think freedom means freedom for teens to dress like whores. they probably are the same ones that don’t mind adult teachers looking at thge same kids as their next sexual conquest, or image for their masturbatory fantasies later on.

DITTO! OTHO, yes freedom does mean you can dress like that, but the converse is also true, there are repercussions that come with it.

At least in a civilized quasi moral society there is or should be.

Looks like she tried to pour a quart into a pint jar.

There had to be something that would have been more attractive on her.

It’s strapless, it has to be tight enough to hold itself up.

I do think the percentage of boobage showing is probably proportional to a much smaller endowed prom attendee who got to show her 40% without being embarrassed. Still think it’s a shame someone started all this hoopla.

communities have always been allowed to set their own decency standards, since before this country was created. freedom isn’t licentiousness.

My mom was an excellent seamstress, trust me, that dress does not fit and if it has to be that tight to have support for the strapless part it is also very poorly made.
