She could have solved her “problem” by buying the dress in the correct size! The dress she has on is one size too small. Deliberately so, I suspect. The purple is also not at all flattering to that artificial hair color.

Seriously, if she dropped thirty or forty pounds this would not have been an issue. I know I will take some heat over this, but this girl is not large breated. She is fat.

IMO she should have worn a dress that concealed he womanhood, when she is on her own and paying for her own clothes and roof, then it becomes her choice.

I would have been inclined to "thumbs-down" this one, but I have seen far worse. (You wouldn't believe ...) As others have commented correctly, the dress just doesn't fit. Its a size too small, and cut too low for her figure. I used to tell the young ladies that if they wanted the young gentlemen to show them some respect, they should show some respect for themselves. A little self-respect, a little modesty, goes a VERY long way. This young lady needs to hear that lecture ...

I don't see cleavage hanging out in the picture. The kid is smart enough to know that whining about having the "magic" taken away from you by meanies will get you what you want nowadays.

I stick with the original meaning of the word; I think women look best curvy and womanly, as in Marilyn Monroe. But that poor girl is just fat.

In our day this would have been a matter for the girl’s parents and a few officials from the school. And that would be that.
Today a 17 year old can blow such a thing up into a global media cause celebre. THAT’S what has changed.

I knew a little girl who was queen of everything in her high school. It was a big school too.
She was very conservative and also religious. I noticed in her high school annual they had her Prom Queen photo. I was a bit surprised to see enough cleavage that one could be sure she, well had some big-uns.
I think she was such a straight arrow that she got by with it where a wild child might not have.

Case closed. Just another idiot wanting attention. Whaaaaa, look at me!!!! Our school has a dress code. Everyone knows it. It's in the handbook which parents and students have to sign every year. Girls can't go strapless and can't have their boobs falling out during class or during prom. Two of my daughter's gowns didn't have straps so I cut a strip off the shawl and sewed on the required 2" width straps on one. For the other, it was just the small matter of digging through my sewing stuff and finding some similar fabric to make straps. It's not rocket science to attach straps nor does it take any effort to buy one that meets the requirements.
I don't have a problem at all with having a dress code. We were at the mall once on prom night (not our school) and you wouldn't believe what the trashy hoochie mamas were wearing... or not wearing. Dress fronts literally cut all the way down to you know where, ick.
The dress does not fit her, that is why she was showing too much skin.
The jury needs to be sequestered to examine the evidence.
Why is it acceptable to make a rather nasty remark about somebody based on their appearance? I don’t think she has a valid argument against not being allowed to attend but that does not mean you should get personally nasty about her.
