Meridian, ID – Idaho 1st Congressional District candidate Vaughn Ward issued the following statement on the potential illegal immigration legislation:

“As Congress considers their next steps on immigration reform, they must address the serious, negative impact of illegal immigration on our country. First and foremost, any legislation put forth must include a plan to secure and protect our borders. Stopping the flow of illegal immigrants into the United States is critical to our economy and our national security. We also must oppose amnesty for illegal aliens to make it clear that those who break our nation’s laws will not be rewarded,” said Ward.

Ward continues, “Finally, Congress must provide our states and local governments with the resources and the authority to enforce current immigration laws. Only a comprehensive plan that both secures the borders and facilitates the enforcement of our laws will begin to solve our country’s immigration problem. I will always stand tough on illegal immigration and vote no to amnesty once I am representing Idaho in Congress.”

You’ve heard the news stories. Illegal Mexican Immigrants marching in the streets, demanding amnesty and attacking Americans who want to protect our country by sealing its borders. Tell them to go protest and wave their Mexican flags in their own country.

It’s the Americans Turn to Protest ... BOYCOTT Cinco De Mayo...

It’s one thing to come to this great country looking for better lives, its a whole other issue when these same ILLEGAL immigrants start waving their Mexican flags, demanding that we change our laws and ways to serve them.

There is plenty of time to distribute this e-mail to as many people as you can before May 5th.

This shall be our protest: A call to boycott this “Non-American” holiday that has infiltrated our border, and our cities and towns, along with the ILLEGAL ALIENS who brought it here. This is your chance to say, we don’t want you here marching in our streets, and we don’t want your holiday.

“About 200 tea party members make their feelings known during president’s Quincy visit”

SNIPPET: “The participants were vocal but well-behaved as they stood on the north side of York Street across from the OLC.

“Having the president come is really something,” organizer Steve McQueen said. “But we do not agree with all the policies of Obama and the current Congress, and we wanted to make sure he knows we are here.”

The crowd carried signs with messages ranging from “Give Us Liberty Not Debt” to yellow flags saying “Don’t Tread On Me.”

Urged on by people with megaphones, the crowd shouted slog
ans, among them “Remember in November” and “You work for us.”

Tea party groups protest government spending and policies infringing on personal freedoms. The Quincy Tea Party had a well-attended rally in Washington Park last fall.”

SNIPPET: “There were a few tense moments when the crowd moved west down York toward Third Street after the president’s motorcade arrived. A Secret Service agent asked the crowd to move back across the street to the north side.

When the crowd didn’t move and began singing “God Bless, America” and the national anthem, Quincy Deputy Police Chief Ron Dreyer called for members of the Mobile Field Force to walk up the street.

The officers, mainly from Metro East departments near St. Louis and dressed in full body armor, marched from the east and stood on the south side of York facing the protesters.

There was no physical contact, and the officers did not come close to the crowd, but there were catcalls and more than a few upset tea party members, including a woman who shouted, “This is communism!””
