At Richmond International Raceway, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin likened the last three weeks of the presidential race to last month's close finish at the raceway in the Chevy Rock & Roll 400. "You all know something about close races" she told the crowd of between 20,000 and 25,000. "John McCain and I are nearing the finish line of another close race," and it will be a sprint to the finish.

From October 15th to the 29th you can join your fellow Americans at patriotic rallies across America where we will declare in one strong and united voice: OUR COUNTRY DESERVES BETTER THAN BARACK OBAMA! As part of this tour we’ll be highlighting Barack Obama’s lack of executive experience, and we’re inviting you to participate. Here’s how: Bring a copy of your resume to the rallies! That’s right, we’ll be collecting resumes from people at stops all across the nation, so if you have any executive experience -- either as someone who ran or started your own small business, or a...

There were shouts of "Nobama" and "Socialist" at the mention of the Democratic presidential nominee. There were boos, middle fingers turned up and thumbs turned down as a media caravan moved through the crowd Thursday for a midday town hall gathering featuring John McCain and Sarah Palin.

I went to the McCain Rally in La Crosse, Wisc. It was a lot of fun. Local candidates were there, as well as Tommy Thompson. There were about 5,000 people in the La Crosse Center, which is about what it holds for these type of rallies. Lots of enthusiasm from the crowd and McCain was fired up, as well. Enjoy the pictures, you can see more of them here.

What is political astroturf? When a political movement portrays itself to be grass-roots, and later we find out it was actually planned and coordinated by a political party or candidate. This is usually done in support of the cause or candidate behind the astroturf effort. The Republicans are now being attacked by a new type of fake grass: dirty atstroturf. Democratic activists are infiltrating Republican rallys pretending to be Republican grass-roots supporters. The Democratic activist's goal? Discredit Republican grass-roots supporters. Their tactic has been to yell vile statements about Democratic candidates, hoping it would smear Republican grass-roots supporters. So far,...

Freeps, I just watched the La Crosse Rally, and it was compelling enough that i wanted to start a new thread. Many thanks to bayliving for the original live thread! This was the best speech in my opinion that McCain has given all year. It was detailed, mature, hard hitting, and very Presidential. A new narrative seems to be developing that is really exciting: Underdog. McCain has shifted the message from "dont believe the polls" to "we are down like we always are but we are going to surprise everyone one more time". Also, McCain introduced a new idea: to...

There's 26 days and people are looking at the very serious possibility that there's a chance that Obama might get in, and they don't like that," said Ian Eltrich, 28, as he filed out of the crowded sports complex. "I'm mad! I'm really mad!" another man said, taking the microphone and refusing to surrender it easily, even when McCain tried to agree with him. ....In recent days, a campaign that embraced the mantra of "Country First" but is flagging in the polls and scrambling for a way to close the gap as the nation's economy slides into shambles has found...

Rush Limbaugh played a clip from this rally 3 times on his show today. A real estate agent demands that McCain, if elected, investigate and prosecute those directly responsible for the mortgage mess. McCain gives a couple of scalps Killer audio from the rally in Waukesha. Go to about 40% of the way through (there are no time markers) to hear the woman ask the question and McCain’s great answer. The crowd goes crazy. Good stuff from Palin on abortion. Calls Obama out on his infanticide vote on BAIPA. There is also a guy yelling at McCain to stop the...

UPDATED at 11:40 p.m. STRONGSVILLE -- Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain and his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, rallied an overflow crowd Wednesday by urging Greater Clevelanders to support the underdog. And who better to help deliver that message than two members of Cleveland's favorite underdog -- make that underdawg -- team, the Browns. Quarterback Brady Quinn and left tackle Joe Thomas made a surprise appearance at the rally before roaring supporters at the Walter F. Ehrnfelt Recreation and Senior Center. Never mind that Quinn's popularity is all about image and hope, with little game experience to back it...

Good evening fellow foot-soldiers for McCain/Palin, Joe Biden is coming to the Sun Dome at USF in Tampa tomorrow. Please come out and show your support by helping us rally for John Mccain and Sarah Palin at the Biden event. Biden doesn’t draw the crowds that the other candidates draw. That is why it is so important for us to turn out in droves. It will be a momentum changer in the eyes of the media. I will be at USF with my McCain/Palin T-Shirt and hat on starting at 9 am. We will find a good spot on one...

OMAHA, Neb. — Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin drew about 6,000 tonight at a rally here where she reprised the greatest hits against Barack Obama. But she did have a great new line in defense of her series of awkward interviews with CBS' Katie Couric. She talked about her "less than successful interview" and the crowd booed in the direction of the press sitting near the riser for video cameras. "I was just trying to give Tina Fey more material. Job security for Saturday Night Live," she said, to big laughs. Palin repeated her mention of Bill Ayers, and...

Local supporters praise candidate's energy, down-to-earth qualities. "Electrifying," "genuine" and "inspiring" were a few of the adjectives that Orange County voters used to describe Sarah Palin after her rally at the Home Depot Center in Carson on Saturday. Although few were surprised by the content of her speech, most O.C. residents who made the trek north said they were simply thrilled to see her in person. "What surprised me was the enthusiasm here," said Brad Michaels from Laguna Hills. "The energy level was so high." For Michaels, the highlight of the speech was Palin talking about Sen. Barack Obama.

Hours before Sarah Palin was due to speak in the South Bay today, thousands of people arrived at the Home Depot Center for the chance to see the Republican candidate for vice president. Wearing red, white and blue attire, waving banners and chanting her name, they started lining up by 8 a.m. Soon, the queue of admirers and the simply curious snaked around the stadium and doubled back on itself. The relatively obscure Alaska governor became a national sensation last month when Sen. John McCain picked her as his vice presidential running mate. Imelda Preciado of Garden Grove was the...

I am writing on behalf of a group of McCain/Palin volunteers who met yesterday in Ramsey, NJ, in order to try to get out out the vote and garner support for the 2008 Campaign. . . the most important Presidential Campaign in recent memory. We were wondering if any thought has been given to holding a rally at Liberty State Park, in Jersey City, NJ sometime in October? In light of the enormous crowds Sarah Palin has been generating (most recently yesterday in Florida), we thought a perfect venue for a rally would be right on the Hudson at Liberty,...

My mother, son and granddaughter accompanied me to the rally. We decided against taking the shuttle bus to the event, and instead opted to take our chances and go right to the Courthouse area. At that point, we said a prayer and put the day into God's hands. We never expected it to turn out as great as it did. Getting there early, we found parking 2 blocks from the Courthouse. After a wonderful lunch, our waitress directed us to the back entrance of the restaurant which took us to the Courthouse inside the barricades. It was then my son got...

American Jews have good reason to be ashamed and angry today. As Iran moves into the final stages of its nuclear weapons development program - nuclear weapons which it will use to destroy the State of Israel, endanger Jews around the world and cow the United States of America - Democratic American Jewish leaders decided that putting Sen. Barack Obama in the White House is more important than protecting the lives of the Jewish people in Israel and around the world. On Monday, the New York Sun published the speech that Republican vice presidential nominee and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin would...

MEDIA, Pa. -- With Sarah Palin in a red leather jacket and American Chopper dude Paul Teutul on stage, the McCain campaign took on a born-to-be-wild vibe a rally at the courthouse square here. Teutul noted McCain's years in a Vietnamese prison.

Here is video of Sarah's speech today in Media PA.The crowd was estimated to be between 10 to 15,000 people. The coverage of this speech on Philly TV stations,or rather the lack of it, coming on the heels of a rally that drew 60,000 on Sunday was disgraceful. None of them showed much if any live coverage of any of the speeches. This is the only video I could find and it is only of Sarah not McCain. Shameful. Politics and diplomacy were not a good mix at Monday's protest rally against Iran at the United Nations. Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin didn't participate in the "Stop Iran Now" rally and there were a lot of hard feelings about it. It was a simple sign that read "We Want Sarah. Shame On The Rally Organizer." Howard Webber from Brooklyn held it. "As important an event as this is, you needed a unity of Democrats and Republicans to show Ahmadinejad that we're not going to accept a nuclear Iran." Buddy Macy of Little Fells, N.J., felt much the same way....

Uncharacteristically low turnout for Barack Obama rally in Green Bay, Wisc. McCain/Palin drew 4,000 more supporters at same venue a week ago September 22, 2008 BY ABDON M. Recent polls have shown that Wisconsin — once pretty solidly in Obama’s column — is now a statistical dead heat between Obama and Republican John McCain. “You all know that you hold this election in your hands,”...

The Villages, Fla. - Thousands of people rallied around Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin during her visit to central Florida on Sunday. Palin almost cancelled the trip due to rain, but the heat became a major issue for the elderly residents who waited under the hot sun for hours. More than a hundred people required medical attention, mostly due to heat related symptoms. The initial crowd estimates are between 30,000 - 60,000. The crowd erupted in cheers as Palin walked onto the stage to Van Halen's "Right Now". Voters waved signs reading "No More Lipstick" and "Pitbulls for Palin." "Florida...

County GOP leaders predict about 15,000 people will attend - making it the largest for a political event since President Ronald Reagan visited Media in 1984 on his way to a landslide re-election victory over Democratic former Vice President Walter Mondale. LADY LAKE, Florida (CNN) – The Villages, which bills itself as “Florida’s premier active adult retirement community,” is a regular stopover for presidential candidates hunting for votes in this quadrennial electoral battleground. Sarah Palin chose this sprawling golf haven as the place to make her Florida debut on Saturday, just her fifth campaign event apart from John McCain since becoming the vice presidential nominee. It may have been a wise choice, if only for the optics — on the same day Barack Obama drew over 20,000 voters to an outdoor rally in North Carolina, Palin attracted tens of thousands...
