How hunting with wolves helped humans outsmart the Neanderthals
The Guardian ^ | 02/28/2015

Posted on 02/28/2015 7:20:56 PM PST by E. Pluribus Unum

Dogs are humanity’s oldest friends, renowned for their loyalty and abilities to guard, hunt and chase. But modern humans may owe even more to them than we previously realised. We may have to thank them for helping us eradicate our caveman rivals, the Neanderthals.

Or the male hybrids weren't fertile but the female hybrids were.

Nonsense. The population density of Neanderthals relative to that of the Cro-magnon is about the same as the proportion of Neanderthal genes in modern man. In other words, the Neanderthal were assimilated.

The Neandertal Enigma
by James Shreeve

in local libraries
"Frayer's own reading of the record reveals a number of overlooked traits that clearly and specifically link the Neandertals to the Cro-Magnons. One such trait is the shape of the opening of the nerve canal in the lower jaw, a spot where dentists often give a pain-blocking injection. In many Neandertal, the upper portion of the opening is covered by a broad bony ridge, a curious feature also carried by a significant number of Cro-Magnons. But none of the alleged 'ancestors of us all' fossils from Africa have it, and it is extremely rare in modern people outside Europe." [pp 126-127]

It’s a UK source, and they built a whole fake cathedral in which to worship Darwin. Neandertal? Some nonsense from Germany, just like Troy! :’)

"Considering everyone has between 1 to 3 percent Neanderthal DNA, it doesn’t seem as if we really got rid of the Neanderthals at all. It’s also difficult to argue that they’re even a separate species from us, since we interbred with no problems whatsoever. It be better to call them “homosapien neanderthalensis”."

I agree, we ARE Neanderthals.

I read recently that we have all the attributes to be Neanderthals but those features just aren't expressed....epigenetics and such.

struggle: "Didn’t the German PhD that hypothesized the intermingling of the Neanderthals and humans just get exposed as a complete liar?"

Tried to look it up, the best I could do is this list of recent German scientists disciplined for misconduct.
It mentions nothing about DNA research, or Neanderthals.

Today there are numerous reports on Neanderthal DNA, how closely related it is to modern humans, and how much interbreeding went on.
The current answers are: Neanderthal DNA is 99.7% identical to ours, with from 1% to 4% of our (non-Africans) DNA inherited from interbreeding.
More recent studies (2014) suggest Neanderthal DNA may effect up to 30% of our own

I did also google-up several web sites with long lists of alleged & actual evolution-science frauds, which they imply makes all evolution data false.
I would suggest that such frauds are notable for their extreme infrequency, and have had no serious effect on the overall scientific enterprise.

Neanderthal remains found:

No, and it’s stupid to bring that up again here on FR, where it was given the heave-ho not even one month ago. I like to think that FReepers are more thorough and more careful readers than that.
