Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

voting is a civic matter. And a rather trivial one at that.

That some try to turn it into a religious matter is comical because it is a lie. You exaggerate the meaning of your vote. Even people in the state legislature have an understanding of their vote on the floor which is based in reality. And they don’t attribute some religious significance to their votes.

Choice is simple - R&R or Obama. NO third party can win, they can only siphon votes away from either the D or the R candidate.

I really don’t see much choice - it’s either vote for R&R or Obama wins. And if Obama wins, the United States is certainly done. That’s where we’re at. I know where I’ll be putting my vote this November, and it won’t be for any candidate that helps Obama. Period.

It’s not where I’d like to be, but the primary is over. It is what it is, and we have to make the best of it.

BTW, I think that Ryan is a MAJOR step in the right direction.

Some questions beg to be asked. Such as: was Mitt Romney ever pleading for “redemption”? Many forget that 95% of America at large knows little about the pre-campaign Mitt Romney beyond what has come out as a result of Obama’s mud balls. And suppose “redemption” came, what form would that take and why would one say so?

The stark truth is that most freepers who are in the neverMitt camp still cheer every time that Mitt socks it to Barack. If Mitt were truly such a cad, this would be a ghastly thing to cheer.

Again, questions get miscast. Getting one piece of a jigsaw puzzle in place scarcely solves the puzzle either.

I suspect you've been living in Seattle too long. You keep saying in your cute, ubiquitous pictures that conservatives now facing reality here have supported Romney since the primaries began, but you know that's not true. Those of us who didn't support Romney now find that it's a choice of either him or Obama........... The only thing in the middle of the road are yellow stripes and dead skunks............ You've made it clear over-and-over what you are and it looks like you've made your choice--to do nothing. I won't do anything that will help that commie stay in the White House, or fail to do anything that might oust him. Stick these in your pipe and smoke `em:

"Forget four more years, one more year of Obama and this country is toast."

RULE 9: “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist. (Perception is reality. Large organizations always prepare a worst-case scenario, something that may be furthest from the activists’ minds. The upshot is that the organization will expend enormous time and energy, creating in its own collective mind the direst of conclusions. The possibilities can easily poison the mind and result in demoralization.)

The GOP(e) understands the Rules for Radicals too. Do not allow yourself to fall prey. We'll show up to vote conservative down ticket. The good people we install into office are tasked to keep Obama in check. Trust them to do their jobs. And, if Obama responds to them in the extreme, he only forces We the People who installed them to react in the extreme. So be it.

This sounds like 4 years ago about Palin and McCain.

True. It was clear then and it's clear now that the bottom of the ticket is the best candidate.

The difference is Obama, he is no longer the blank slate that voters can write their dreams on.

More and more folks see him for the nightmare he is. Is it enough? We'll see.

“Oh, so you don’t like the outcome of the primary, so “It must be the work of the evil GOP-e!” Are you serious? OK, why don’t you prove it. Prove to us how the GOP-e mysteriously made primary voters around the nation vote for Romney...we’re dying to know? I guess these same evil GOP-e’s made Cain, Bachmann, and New drop out?”

They didn’t force people to vote for Romney. In the states Romney won, voter turnout was much lower than the average. Where he didn’t win, voter turnout was high. What that means is that Romney and the GOPe released so much negative ads and campaigning that people were literally demoralized to vote. That left a minority of RINOs and libs in Open Primary states to win it for Mittins.

So we have 2 false Christians on the GOP side. Mormon and a catholic. How utterly pathetic. Fighting against a Muslim negro and another false religion VP. We best get our sheets and hoods cleaned for this one boys.

“We’re not electing a prophet in November. You are encouraging the antagonism of another religion, and that prevents rational political discourse when one candidate (or debater) is not of an approved religion.”
______________________________________________________

Isn't great to watch JimRob-that great purveyor of Christian virtues-tolerate the image of Romney dressed up like a spastic Mormon missionary by JoeProBono. So now FR mocks members of another faith. Hey Jim, have you ever thought that many of your loyal FReepers are Mormons? But hey, i guess it doesn't matter; Mitt's a Mormon, and this makes the bashing of Mormons (Hard working Americans) ok in your book. Just wow.

And Jim can sit here and lecture us about Christ? It is sad watching this site go down this twisted path...it really is.

About the takeover by the leftists and the weakness of many republicans. His repeating the past stances of Romney on abortion shows this as we are supposed to be able to believe it when people change on such important things! Right?

If Romney wins, the conservative cause will be destroyed as well and the GOP will be destroyed as a political vehicle for conservatism. Obozo and Mittler are BOTH Ls. I have chosen wisely.

It’s a vestige of a Jewish custom not to permit a writing of the special Hebrew covenant name of God (sometimes rendered Jehovah in translation) to be disrespectfully destroyed. So by analogy Jews, and Christians with certain sympathies to Jewish practice, will not spell out God in a volatile medium. There are worse issues to disagree about in religion than this... far worse issues. Just read G-d as God and keep going.

No sorry America is in balance now.

The next election changes one way or the other, for quite a while.

I wanted Palin first. She stood down, for whatever reason.

I took Romney when he won, and with the nomination of Ryan, Romney / Ryan are (lightyears) ahead of the competition.

No context at all.

Not sure where JT is coming from, but with the nomination of Ryan it is clearly settled for this poster.
