Election 2012: Mitt Romney's selection of the House Budget Committee chairman as his running mate focuses the 2012 choice as one between progressive chaos and capitalist growth, budgetary control and job creation. Speaking at the 2010 health care summit, Paul Ryan, after documenting the fiscal disaster of ObamaCare and exposing its budgetary "gimmicks," told President Obama, "if you think they (the American people) want a government takeover of health care, I would respectfully submit you're not listening to them." American voters made that point perfectly clear that November, turning control of the House to the GOP. When Romney picked the...

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though. But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is. And the fact that he advocated that abortion...

*** UPDATED*** Last night I posted an update to the Romney/Ryan joint 60 minutes interview with a portion on Medicare that wasn’t aired during the show. In case you missed it I’ll repost it below:

I'm gonna have to watch 60 Minutes?

An interesting glimpse at Paul Ryan’s wife, from the Washington Post: Janna Ryan, wife of Republican vice presidential pick Rep. Paul Ryan, is the poster girl for Generation X women who wanted to have it all.Ryan, 43, like many of her 40-something peers, is a stay-at-home mother with an impressive resume. She prefers her husband’s hometown, Janesville, Wis., to Washington and remains out of the political limelight. But Janna Christine Little Ryan hails from Oklahoma, a state known for its Will Rogers’s common-sense ideals mixed with a smidgen of Wild West attitude. She grew up Madill, Okla., in the southern part of...

Congratulations to Mitt Romney on his choice of Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate. President Obama has declared that this election is about “two fundamentally different visions” for America. Goodness, he’s got that right. Our country cannot afford four more years of Barack Obama’s fundamentally flawed vision. We must now look to this new team, the Romney/Ryan ticket, to provide an alternate vision of an America that is fiscally responsible, strong, and prosperous – an America that understands and is proud of her exceptional place in the world and will respect those who fight to secure that exceptionalism, which...

Mitt Romney, the human weather vane who always know which way the wind is blowing (from the right), had been looking for a boring white guy to be his running mate. The right wing mounted a very public campaign to pressure him to choose Rep. Paul Ryan, author of the GOP budget plan that Democrats have successfully used as a truncheon. And Romney did what he does best: he caved. Or, perhaps more charitably, Romney realized that he was playing a losing hand and needed a joker. You’d be forgiven if you think you’ve heard this all before: John McCain...

With business investments and a family inheritance, Rep. Paul D. Ryan of Wisconsin and his wife have accumulated millions of dollars in assets and generated income last year well above his congressional salary, according to his most recent financial disclosure statement. Mitt Romney’s newly announced running mate reported assets in the range of $2 million to $7.7 million. The largest was the interest that his wife, Janna, holds in a trust resulting from the 2010 death of her mother, Prudence Little. Her interest in the trust falls in the range of $1 million to $5 million, Ryan reported. Ryan also...

Mitt Romney told a top aide that he had selected Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate on Aug. 1, sources tell Fox News. The Republican presidential candidate notified Beth Myers, who was running his VP search, and called up Ryan that day to set up a meeting. It's unclear when exactly Romney made the formal offer to Ryan. The campaign did not confirm the selection publicly until Saturday morning.Romney is formally announcing his decision at a campaign stop in Virginia.

Yes. PHEW. After a week marred by a not-ready-for-prime-time staffer who had movement conservatives questioning Team Romney’s competence, sanity, and willingness to fight the brass-knuckles White House and Chicago thug operatives, the Romney campaign made the right decision. And the Right decision Paul Ryan is fresh, young, energetic, smart, courageous, and ready for prime time. Paul Ryan is a policy wonk AND a front-line warrior whose budget and long-term entitlement reforms have the entire Dem-Soros-lapdog media machine unhinged. Paul Ryan is ready to fight false media narratives. Paul Ryan is battle-tested against the White House. Paul Ryan won’t cut and...

A quick observation: How important could God be to Paul Ryan if his number one inspiration for going into public life is the works of militant atheist activist Ayn Rand? Republican leaders always claim that God is their number one inspiration, Jesus their favorite philosopher. Ryan's is a woman who made it her life mission to kill God and replace Him with man. Ryan can claim he's Catholic until the cows come home - he's obviously not that religious if his number one reason for being a politician is the philosophies of an avowed atheist activist. _________________ Mitt Romney has...

The Romney campaign has released excerpts of Paul Ryan's speech to be delivered very soon in Norfolk, Virginia: Mitt Romney is a leader with the skills, the background and the character that our country needs at a crucial time in its history. Following four years of failed leadership, the hopes of our country, which have inspired the world, are growing dim; and they need someone to revive them. Governor Romney is the man for this moment; and he and I share one commitment: we will restore the dreams and greatness of this country. … For the last 14 years, I...

Paul Ryan is an excellent VP choice The Obama cheerleaders in the media are already attacking him because of the budget he proposed last year. Well, bring it on. Let's have a fight over substance. And let's expose Obama for the destructive leftist he is and Biden for the weak dufus he is.

So what about freepers? we like paul ryan? i like what he says, i just wonder if all Romney has done is given a bigger target to he whose name may not be spoken.

“Romney will announce his choice for Vice President in Norfolk, Virginia at 8:45am EST,” Romney campaign spokesman Lenny Alcivar told reporters in an email this evening. The announcement is being made at the USS Wisconsin. It’s still unclear whom he will choose, but the odds that it is Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., seemed to increase when National Review’s Robert Costa noted that a charter plane flew from Boston to Ryan’s hometown of Janesville, Wis., today.

UPDATE:: NBC News has three sources telling the network that Rep. Paul Ryan, (R) Wisconsin, is Mitt Romney's choice for Vice President. Also the National Review reports the following: Earlier today, a charter plane took off in Boston, stopped in Chicago, then flew to the tiny airport in Janesville, Wis. Janesville, of course, is the hometown of Representative Paul Ryan, a top vice-presidential contender.

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has picked Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan to be his running mate. A Republican with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that Romney has chosen Ryan. The Republican spoke on condition of anonymity because this person was not authorized to disclose the decision.

Sonic Boom (via NBC News): Campaign sources indicate that Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin is Mitt Romney's vice presidential pick, NBC News reported Friday night. Earlier Romney's campaign said in a statement that it would announce a running mate at 9 a.m. ET Saturday morning in Norfolk, Va., just before he begins a four-day bus tour in the battleground state. I spoke with a high-level Romney campaign source earlier this evening, who confirmed that the announcement will come at approximately 9am ET on Saturday, though he could not officially confirm that Ryan is the pick. The unveiling will occur...
