Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

You show no faith in the people

The people who voted for Obama you mean? Never thought that would happen.

With majorities wedded to Gov't goodies and with Obama (who would be more like a dictator with the EO's) given renewed power there will be only trouble. And a lot of it.

I'm not advocating a "protest vote". I'm advocating a strategic vote.

The Constitution Party is nowhere near able to generate 5% of the popular vote. The Green Party has come close.

And if some miracle happened and the Constitution Party did get 5% of the vote then they would tend to siphon votes away from the Republicans turning this country into a Democrat Party plaything.

The short term strategy is to make the Green Party a viable third party that can siphon the true believers out of the Democrat Party cancelling out all of the illegal aliens votes they have been adding over the last few years.

I'm in California. I'm voting Green even though we have one of the strongest branches of the Constitution Party.

There are many here on FR who are twisted up into knots because the owner of the site will not give his support to their guy Romney.

It’s enough to make them scream and cry...

Your use of inaccurate broad brush labels isn’t your problem... hokay.

Sad day here at FR...

What makes today any sadder than yesterday or last Saturday? There has been no effective change in Jim Robinson's previously-stated postition.

I had unpleasant flashbacks to Poppy Bush and Dan Quayle, watching the announcements and seeing the two of them onstage together today. I'm not quite getting the elation others appear to be feeling. Hope he's up to it.

“Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I’m a bigot”

We’re not electing a prophet in November. You are encouraging the antagonism of another religion, and that prevents rational political discourse when one candidate (or debater) is not of an approved religion.

The business of politics and Christianity have many basic incompatibilities built in, but when there is a religious litmus test applied before opinions are considered fairly, political discussion is impossible. Too bad.

Your proposition is a losing strategy. I hate politicians and I hate politicians, but I do understand W’s and L’s. If Obama wins, my conservative cause loses the game, loses the season, loses the World Series, and is relegated to AAA forever more. Its just politics and the winners are the only ones who get to implement their ideological agenda. I can’t understand why Conservatives don’t get that after observing what has happened over the last 3+ years. Choose wisely, my friend.

Your post 304...it is a dilemma of great magnitude if you believe “If you fear Obama, you’ll vote for Romney; if you fear God, you won’t.” Because we can thank God that we live in a country where we have the freedom to vote.

The problem is, what’s so different about the Presidential race—we vote all the time for candidates who are not righteous. Very few born again Christians run for public office on any level these days.

In 46 years of voting, my usual consideration has been for the lesser of the 2 evils. Same-o, same-o, from local candidates to POTUS.

The stakes are higher than ever this time, and I’m afraid that we are already done for as a nation, but if I am here on earth and able to vote in the November election, I am again going to vote for the lesser of the 2 evils...and I am praying for God’s mercy on our nation and His drawing to Himself people who are perishing for a lack of knowledge of Christ.

And so the circular firing squad once more comes into formation and executes.

“You show no faith in the people if you believe so.”

You mean the same people that elected Obama in the first place?

What am I missing here?

Romney is a liberal, who will lie, cheat, and do anything and say anything he can to get elected. He is the enemy within.

Well I'm sorry for what your Jewish father went through..my father made difficult choices as well...but he did not survive. My background is religious stew...Catholic mother, Protestant father, Mormon in-laws and now I am studying Judaism. I could care less about Romney's religion.

That said...voting for Romney is not going to save this nation...anyone who believes that to be true is sadly mistaken. G-d bless.
