Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

You have clearly taken what I said all worng, either knowingly, or as a result of a misunderstanding, misjudgement or mistake.

I believe in God the Father, and in His Son Jesus Christ. I believe Jesus Christ is the Savior of mankind and bestowes the Holy GHost on all those who accept Him and then try with all their heart, and as a result of their conversion to Him and taking His countenance upon them, to live by what He taught, to try and be like Him and keep his commandments. That gift of the Holy Ghost then helps guide us in our daily walk.

I pray to the Father, as Jesus taught, in Jesus name and seek His guidance. But I do believe He also expects us to use our Free Will, that He gave us, to act within those constraints to be witnesses to those around us, to influence others, and our society for the good and towards him.

So, yes, as a result, I will DO ALL IN MY POWER to influence those things towards what I indicated in my intial post because I have already determined through the very process I just indicated (ie. prayer and guidance from the Spirit) that it would be best for America.

...but then, because God is Supreme, and His will is suprmeme and does not always indicate exactly what we in our finite mortal minds might expect...I WILL WAIT UPON THE LORD, for His Arm to be revealed, and then accept His will.

That was what I was saying and what I meant and what I will do.

Nic, thanks. I was away from the thread for some time, and then not aware of this background discussion going on regardiong me until I stumbled across it posting to someone else. Thanks for the attempt (as a result of our long years of discourse here) to let pop88 understand what I meant.

For whatever reason, instead of taking your comments at face value as such an attempt to clear up a misunderstanding, he apparently had no desire to take into account you attempt to help in this regard. He apparently insists that I answer him.

Okay, I am game, and have done so.

IMHO, when a person is not around to defend themselves, that's what friends do..not in an attempt to speak for them which I never took your comments as, but in an attempt to clear up a misunderstanding regarding people we consider friends and see being taken wrong. I apprecioate that.

God's speed.

Why, yes. lol

I came up with a cracker analogy. It goes like this:

You’ve got two choices: 1) saltine or 2) Ritz. Only one of these will be given out to all at the end.

Everyone is free to say they want something else, such as chips, cookies, or candy, but those choices will not get them what they’d prefer between 1 or 2 above. If there ends up being 100 votes for Saltines, and 120 for the Ritz, guess what everybody’s getting? It’s not hard to figure out and then it’ll be too late for the 50 people to pine over really having preferred the Saltines after the fact.

I’ll add to all of the other responses in thanking you for clarity and perspective that could only come from having that account of struggle come directly from a person that suffered through it.

May it open the heads of those that still dont get that this election is not a joke.

I said much the same thing about 1,200 posts ago, VanDeKoik. That hope for enlightenment fizzled pretty quickly. CWSNTEXAS even got served a dish of downright disbelief with a side order of accusation de victimhood. Straight out of the Cloward-Piven, Saul Alinksy, Communist Manifesto "play" books. Despicable.

That is certainly true however what does his religion have to do with anything?

Sorry, but a persons religion is part and parcel of what makes the man. It is an insight to what the person is and how he thinks. Republicans were (and still are in some quarters) crying about not knowing anything about Obama and his religion or background. Many of those were worried that he was (and likely is) an Islamist Muslim. Now some of us believe if that principle was true for Obama then surely we have a duty and a right to explore Romneys religion and background if wants to the President of the United States.

Isn't what's good for the goose supposed to good for the gander?! RINO's are famous for speaking with forked tongues when it suits them. They love the double standards.

Your’e an idiot. Nobody’s screaming or crying, it’s just a very sad thing that is happening. FReepers I like and correspond with are leaving. The majority clearly disagree with Jim. It’s not that he won’t vote for Romney, of course that is his choice and it won’t make a bit of difference in his sate. The problem is, but posting these things he is actively HELPING to get the Kenyan re-elected. THAT is how most see it and they can’t accept it.
I loved FR, it’s very sad to see this happening.

You sorely underestimate the evil that Soetoro is and the evil of his administration. HUGE underestimation and by the way, you’re a RUDE JERK!

Plus he misses the point that in many ways this Country is already in many way already like Nazi Germany.

No knock warrants, Waco, Ruby Ridge, Elian Gozalez, selective prosecution (BPP, Goldman Sachs), political prosecution (Zimmerman), fiat regulation and control (Unions, epa etc.), neighbors encouraged to "if you see something, say something", TSA coming to the cites, think NY and rail stations, not to mention indiscriminate pat downs in NYC.

Were headed toward either hyperinflation, deliberately being cause by massive unsustainable debts (Wiemar Republic).

Are FEMA camps a hoax? I don't know, do you? I could go on but you get the picture. It's up to us to stop what is inevitably coming next via what history has shown.

We either try to do it peaceably or fight it violently.

Although in the past Romney has these worng positions, he indicates he has changed and now for the last 6+ years has been advocating conservative positions. People are using his past to judge him now. But his [POSTIONS NOW] make it clear what he is running on in 2012...as it did in 2008 when Jim supported him against McCain.

Most normal folks would call this FLIP-FLOPping.

Well, you’re in good company. I doubt there are 10% of the FReepers in agreement with me on this.

I would say about three times that amount. Those that don't are often unsure as to what you see as not welcome on the site. Many understood it as a plain "don't make threads on the promotion of Romney as though he was a conservative" and there would be toleration for political prudence that each see in the electoral balance of their home state.

The real problem begins with those that don't just take you at your word -- but instead that try to enforce it in all discourse on this site. Many that they post to are too opinionated to shrug off their diatribes.

I remember well in the 90s how there came a point when Don Morgan felt he was the enforcer on the site and finally in exasperation you posted to him something to the effect of "I never asked you to do any of this." He was so astounded he went off the deep end.

There are still a lot of Dons out there.

It is often tough for people to take a post such as this one in proper context. Perhaps I am mistaken, but I think it was simply a vanity pointing out, in the middle of the enthusiasm, that the Repubs had still given us a pandering Rino of the worst kind for our candidate and that there had been no sea change in your view.

There are others that take it that you are laying down a line in the sand as to the overall posting tenure of what you expect to see everyone on the site adhere to -- and then they go out and become little functionary enforcers (a strange tendency on a site steeped in personal liberty and morals.)

Your typical kind comment is given little importance or notice. Your every negative response is given a rah-rah way our of proportion to what your honest humility would normally expect. You are the celebrity here as well as the Owner and you get all the pandering and sycophants that any celebrity has in any media, sad to say.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the internal dispute with some volunteers. We all know over the years how deep is your affection and how painful this can be. Most of us really appreciate you, Jim, even if we sometimes look at things from a different angle.
