I recently saw this on TV: a commercial for a Fresno "Gay Pride" parade. Get this: after encouraging everybody to come out and showing videos of "Gay Pride" demonstrators and featuring more rainbow colors than a hippie music video, the commercial finishes with the statement, "Comcast proudly supports Fresno's Gay Pride Parade..." What? How far have we come as a society, if a company as reputable as Comcast openly endorses homosexual "pride" gatherings, especially in such a conservative area as this, without any fear of reprisal? And they aren't going to get bad press for this, they aren't going to...

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says he and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton teamed up at a May 11 press conference with one goal in mind -- to get Congress to pass, and the president to sign, a health information technology bill. Gringrich told Fox News's Bill O'Reilly that the bill's sponsors (Reps. Patrick Kennedy, a R.I. Democrat, and Tim Murphy, a Pennsylvania Republican) said if he and Sen. Clinton appeared together at the press conference, they'd get a lot more publicity for the bill they both support. As for the suggestion that Sen. Clinton is using Gingrich to show that...

If one looks for the company which has done the most to affirm and promote the homosexual lifestyle, he would be hard-pressed to find a company which has done more than Ford Motor Company. While this is hardly known to the general population, it is well known by numerous homosexual organizations. In fact, the Human Rights Campaign (a national homosexual organization whose goal is homosexual marriage) gave Ford a 100% corporate rating. Ford makes not only Ford, but also Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, and Land Rover. From redefining family to include homosexual marriage, to giving hundreds of thousands of...

WASHINGTON (AP) - Buying knockoff designer handbags and Hello Kitty T-shirts on city street corners may ultimately be helping terror groups like Hezbollah and Hamas, law enforcement officials and experts testified Wednesday. Profits from faux Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada purses, scores of pirated DVD movies, and counterfeited clothing and other goods have been traced to supporters of terror organizations, the experts said. "We have encountered suspects who have shown great affinity for Hezbollah and its leadership," Lt. John Stedman of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department testified at a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing. In one example, Stedman said, a...

- Some Republicans in his hometown disregard accusations against him and stand by him. Others are loudly joining the chorus against him. SUGAR LAND, Texas - To get the skinny on Tom DeLay from those who know him, you take Highway 59 out of Houston to this boomtown of scenic greenery, where the churches are the size of minor-league ballparks, the spanking-new neighborhoods are known as "master plans," and the only folks on foot appear to be golfers and landscapers. In one typically sumptuous dwelling the other day, Terese Raia, a redheaded grandmother and devout Christian, was serving up strawberries...

If the Jews know better than anybody else what kind of an unbalanced mind it takes to produce the sickness of prejudice, why do Jews so comfortably practice it themselves by making any member of the Republican Party a special target of prejudice – especially someone who is recognized as a far-right Republican? Somehow, Jews have always been enraptured by the words "liberal" or "Democrat." We convinced ourselves that the words "liberal" and "Jew" are a package made in heaven, ordained by God like a marriage, consecrated until death do us part. Love may be blind, but it does not...

WASHINGTON - One of the moderate Republicans who has been wavering on the nomination of John R. Bolton to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said Tuesday he will reluctantly support the embattled nominee. Rhode Island Republican Sen. Lincoln Chafee's decision gives momentum to Bolton ahead of a Senate Foreign Relations Committee vote Thursday. Chafee said he decided to support Bolton because he is President Bush's choice. "I won't deny a lot of the information certainly brings great pause, but I fight the administration on so many issues; this is one of those that I've been with them on...

The United American Committee with partners is organizing a military appreciation parade. If you can volunteer in any way to help organize this tremendous event, please contact us. The parade will be in Los Angeles and is scheduled for mid 2006, not to be in conjunction with any holiday. In the days following the close of WWI and WWII, Americans showed up in large numbers to support our troops homecoming. Military parades were in every major city across the nation. In these times, we must continue that spirit of pride in our servicemen by showing our support for them. We...

Hollywood has come to the rescue of the United Nations. The new film, "The Interpreter," is political propaganda designed to boost the image of the United Nations and make the U.S. look bad for opposing the International Criminal Court. Most reviews have focused on the part of the plot involving an evil African leader, President Zawani, who is accused of genocide and travels to the U.N. in New York for a speech and is the target of an assassination plot. But the political dimension of the plot involves the opposition by the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. to his trial...

You might have the impression that Ivy League "neoconservatives" wearing pinstripe suits inside the wonky think tanks in Washington, D.C., are currently plotting the overthrow of the mullahs running Iran. They and their hawkish Pentagon pals have checked the box next to Iraq on their to-do list (now that elections have happened), and are strategizing the best way to take down the tyranny in Iran. (Then we'll move on to Syria, and get ready for the draft, folks, we're fixing the world!) But that image couldn't be further from the truth. Some of those Beltway types are cheering from the...

61% support constitutional revision The Yomiuri Shimbun Sixty-one percent of respondents to a nationwide Yomiuri Shimbun survey support revision of the Constitution, the second-highest figure since the opinion poll on the top law was first taken in 1981. The figure marks the second consecutive year that support for constitutional revision has exceeded 60 percent, with 65 percent reported last year. The survey results show demand for a new constitution that reflects the changed times finally has widespread support, 60 years after the end of World War II. Lawmakers have been increasingly active in discussing revision of the supreme law. The...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. officials voiced cautious support for U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan on Tuesday, saying they did not know where an inquiry into the U.N. oil-for-food program may lead or whether Annan would survive it. The independent probe led by former U.S. Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volcker on Tuesday cleared Annan of interfering in the award of a contract under the scandal-plagued oil-for-food program in Iraq to a firm that employed his son. However, the investigation faulted Annan for not having investigated possible conflicts of interest properly. "Secretary-General Annan and the United States share a common commitment to working...

WASHINGTON, March 29, 2005 – For the Maine Troop Greeters, it’s all about expressing appreciation. Since thousands of people welcomed the first Gulf War veterans who arrived at Bangor International Airport just over 14 years ago, the greeters have met nearly 1,000 flights bringing troops to or from war zones. As of March 22, 968 flights with a total of 177,457 troops and two military working dogs have been welcomed by the Maine Troop Greeters, said group member Evelyn Bradman. The core of about 75-80 greeters began to solidify about two years ago, according to Dee Winthrop-Denning, designer and maintainer...
