Separately, 12 coalition soldiers were killed as their helicopter crashed in the first hours of the ground war. Explosion reported in Kuwait’s Wafra oilfield An explosion was reported Saturday, March 15, at Kuwait’s WW-63 oil well in the emirate’s southern Wafra field, within the partitioned neutral zone (PNZ), according to German news agency DPA. As part of recently completed work-over operations, WW-63’s rig was removed. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, which was handled by emergency teams and well control specialists. Wafra wells were torched by the retreating Iraqi troops in the aftermath of the 1991 Gulf War. The giant Wafra oilfield is located in the Saudi-Kuwaiti PNZ and produces from five reservoirs....
