According to a recent New York Times/CBS News poll, 58 percent of Americans said the President was born in the United States, with 20 percent believing he was born in another country (23 percent said they did not know).

State Rep. Mark Hatfield (R-Waycross) has just introduced legislation that would require Barack Obama – should he run for re-election – to provide proof of his citizenship before being granted a spot on the 2012 Georgia presidential primary ballot. The state of Hawaii, of course, has already declared the matter of Obama’s birth proven — and closed.
