CNN is being ridiculed online following the left-wing news network’s new job postings seeking “reality” reporters and an accompanying editor to help combat what it deems “misinformation,” with many noting the hypocrisy of the network having been accused itself of misinformation on many occasions. In the job listing for the “misinformation” team in New York City, CNN Digital states it is seeking “reality” reporters and an editor to help run a “new team covering misinformation,” which the network is starting.

The only thing falling faster than CNN’s ratings is the network’s credibility and on Tuesday, the self-proclaimed “most trusted name in news” was savagely mocked over its complete lack of self-awareness over the announcement of a brand new team dedicated to covering misinformation. (snip) In a Twitter post soliciting resumes for 3 positions that he needs to fill, Alex Koppelman who is the managing editor for CNN Business proudly announced the formation of the new team, clearly oblivious to the irony given his employer’s own tendencies to act as purveyors of misleading information. “Hello Twitter! Some very exciting MEDIA JOBS...

Kansas City, Missouri Mayor Quinton Lucas (D) on Sunday said he is facing two challenges as his municipality battles COVID-19: misinformation regarding vaccinations and opposition from the political right when it comes to mask mandates and other mitigation practices. Asked by moderator Margaret Brennan on CBS’s “Face the Nation” what is holding him back from enacting a citywide mask mandate to tame the spread of COVID-19, Lucas pointed to the “political challenge” he has received from the state of Missouri.

If you’re sick and tired of hearing the term “misinformation,” you’re not alone. It’s become one of the most overused phrases in the last couple of years, and it doesn’t show signs of slowing down anytime soon. The left has found it incredibly useful in that it sounds malicious in nature while being incredibly malleable in meaning. As of late, “misinformation” is a nebulous term used by the left to describe something that challenges “the science” on COVID-19. In other words, if someone like Dr. Anthony Fauci says that masks are necessary to halt the spread of COVID-19 and people show...

On Friday’s broadcast of PBS’ “Washington Week,” CNN Political Director David Chalian stated that “in one aspect,” covering the Biden administration “may be a bit easier than it was during the Trump administration because of the deliberate misinformation and lying that was occurring.” Chalian responded to criticism that the coverage of the Biden administration has been too tough by stating that all administrations complain

Jake West was a seemingly healthy 17-year-old when he collapsed during high school football practice in Indiana and died of sudden cardiac arrest. A video widely shared online falsely suggests COVID-19 vaccination is to blame, weaving headlines about him into a rapid-fire compilation of news coverage about athletes collapsing. The vaccine played no role in West’s death — he died from an undiagnosed heart condition in 2013, seven years before the pandemic began. “My tragedy of losing my son is always upsetting, and to think that somebody would use that for their gain is very upsetting,” she said. “It’s mind-boggling...

They have decried COVID-19 as a hoax, promoted unproven treatments and pushed bogus claims about the vaccine, including that the shots magnetize the human body. The purveyors of this misinformation are not shadowy figures operating in the dark corners of the internet. They are a small but vocal group of doctors practicing medicine in communities around the country. Now medical boards are under increasing pressure to act. Organizations that advocate for public health have called on them to take a harder line by disciplining the doctors, including potentially revoking their licenses. The push comes as the pandemic enters a second...

President Joe Biden continues to get poor ratings from the American people on his presidency, prompting the president to blame misinformation and coronavirus anxiety. Leave it to the Brits to highlight all the flaws inherent in the US-led effort to develop (and reap immense profits from) COVID vaccines while the WTO holds the line on denying the sharing of IP rights to allow developing nations to produce their own jabs. The UK's Channel 4 has produced a new documentary that exposes Pfizer's efforts to undermine its rivals, including AstraZeneca, which developed a jab in the UK with help from Oxford University. And teasers from this new doc, released late Monday, purports to show that Pfizer criticized AZ in a presentation where the company said the...

LogocideOne of the distinguishing features of authoritarian societies is the language becomes lifeless and dull. At the same time, the public space is filled with the language of the authoritarian ruling system. The people at the top give long arid speeches and their propaganda organs fill the spaces in between with official noise. Fidel Castro would give speeches that lasted half a day. Stalin would deliver long harangues to the Party Congress for no other reason than to fill the room with words. In America, this started to creep in after the Cold War. Bill Clinton would give long speeches...

With secret police chief Merrick Garland siccing the FBI on parents at school board meetings and the social media giants continuing to cut the ground out from under dissenting voices, the Biden administration has not exactly provided a welcoming place for the freedom of speech. However, Francis Collins, the outgoing director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), thinks there is still altogether too much of it. Collins wants those who are spreading “misinformation” to be “brought to justice,” and pronto.div class="thm-piano-mop"> It’s disconcerting to see an official of the United States government (the NIH is an agency of the...

Former co-host Jedediah Bila was shut down Tuesday on ABC’s “The View” after saying she was not vaccinated. Co-host Joy Behar said, “Let’s address the elephant in the room because you were supposed to join us in the studio weeks ago, but you couldn’t because ABC has a very strict policy. You can’t get into this building unless you’re fully vaccinated. Everybody in this room knows that and is vaccinated, but you made a conscious decision not to get the vaccine. Now the CDC says a person is ten times less likely to be hospitalized from COVID and 11 times...

The Twitter executive responsible for blocking stories about Hunter Biden's laptop is one of several advisers to the Aspen Institute's disinformation commission. Yoel Roth is one of several questionable advisers to Aspen's Commission on Information Disorder, which on Monday released its much-anticipated report. Commission members include Katie Couric, who recently acknowledged that she edited comments on National Anthem protests out of a 2016 interview with Ruth Bader Ginsburg to preserve the justice's reputation with liberals. Another commissioner, Rashad Robinson, helped fuel actor Jussie Smollett's hate crime hoax. Commission members' censorship of legitimate news stories could undercut their lofty mission. The...

In Defense of “Misinformation”Restrictions of scientific free speech will inevitably lead to restriction of any speech deemed detrimental to freedom.American sociologist Robert K. Merton once defined four norms that guide scientific research: communalism, universalism, disinterestedness, and organized skepticism. Communalism holds that science should be done publicly, universalism that everyone should be held to the same scientific standards, disinterestedness that there should be no biases, and organized skepticism that scientific claims should be evaluated based on objectivity and rigor. For all four norms, open inquiry is fundamental. To practice the scientific method, we must have the freedom to discuss ideas. No...

Press secretary Jen Psaki said Friday the White House is against misinformation when asked about celebrities, such as NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who have refused to get vaccinated against COVID-19. “You know how we feel about misinformation — we're against it,” Psaki said when asked by a reporter if she had anything to say to people, such as the Green Bay Packers star, who have promoted “dubious alternatives to vaccines.” Rodgers last week tested positive for the coronavirus, with news breaking that he had not been vaccinated, despite saying in August that he had “been immunized.”

The latest data from the United Kingdom’s PHE Vaccine Surveillance Report suggests that people who have been “fully vaccinated” for the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) are losing about five percent of their immune systems per week. Doubly injected people between the ages of 40 and 70 have already lost about 40 percent of the immune system capacity from the moment they get injected. They then progressively lose more of it over time, with peak immune system loss for many expected to arrive by Christmas. “If this continues then 30-50 year-olds will have 100% immune system degradation, zero viral defence by Christmas...

YouTube on Wednesday continued to follow the lead of its evil “don’t be evil” parent company Google and announced it would be banning videos that contain what it calls “vaccine misinformation.” The statement itself, ironically, contains vaccine misinformation. The announcement came in the form of a blog post on Wednesday:Working closely with health authorities, we looked to balance our commitment to an open platform with the need to remove egregious harmful content. We’ve steadily seen false claims about the coronavirus vaccines spill over into misinformation about vaccines in general, and we’re now at a point where it’s more important than...
