Hillary Clinton's former chief of staff, Cheryl Mills, is asking a federal judge to order a conservative group not to release audio or video recordings of a deposition Mills is scheduled to give Friday about Clinton's use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state. Mills' attorneys filed a motion Wednesday afternoon saying they fear that the group that sought Mills' deposition in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, Judicial Watch, will use any recording to distort Mills' testimony and advance the group's anti-Clinton agenda.

There was an extraordinary report in Tuesday’s Washington Post about the Clinton e-mail investigation. It involved the government’s interview of longtime Clinton consigliere Cheryl Mills. It details how Justice Department attorneys made an agreement with Mills’s attorney to cut off questioning about a key aspect of the case. Mills, who is a lawyer, was represented at the interview by a lawyer named Beth Wilkinson. As is customary in these situations, the questioning was conducted jointly by FBI agents and Justice Department prosecutors. Yet when things got dicey, it seems the Justice Department prosecutors worked jointly with Ms. Wilkinson to block...

A new set of State Department documents released Thursday by the watchdog group Judicial Watch reveal then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made the choice not to use a secure phone line amid a technical problem and acknowledged the risk of using a private Blackberry phone. The documents contain a Feb. 22, 2009, email exchange between Clinton and her then-Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills attempting to communicate over a secure line after Clinton returned from an overseas trip. When there were issues setting up a secure communication, Clinton wrote to Mills, “I called ops and they gave me your ‘secure’ cells…...

Rules are for the little people, why are Justice Department prosecutors trying to shut down FBI investigators The news here is not that Hillary crony Cheryl Mills walked out of her FBI interview and cited a legal technicality to try to avoid answering questions. Of course she did that. It’s what Hillary cronies do. The news, rather - and it’s not good news - is that there is apparently tension between FBI investigators and Justice Department prosecutors on just how doggedly to pursue the evidence in the case:

Senior Hillary Clinton aide Cheryl Mills and her lawyer walked out of a recent interview with the FBI about Clinton's private email system after an investigator asked a question Mills believed to be off limits, according to a published report. The Washington Post said that Mills and her lawyer, Beth Wilkinson, returned to the interview room after a brief absence. However, the Post reported that Mills and Wilkinson asked for breaks during the interview to confer more than once. According to the paper, the FBI investigator's questions that caused Mills and Wilkinson to walk out were related to the procedure...

Investigators have not classified Mills, as hostile — Mills was chief of staff for Clinton as secretary of state. Questions that were "off limits" dealt with the procedure used to produce (archived) email. Tension surrounding the criminal probe into records of purposefully gross mishandling of power and critical American intelligence information. FBI, will depose Sec. Clinton concerning years of well orchestrated malfeasance, with a benevolent effort to separate "criminal intent" from "malicious intent" and side step "massive criminal collusion".

The State Department has agreed to a conservative legal group’s request to question several current and former government officials about the creation of Hillary Clinton’s private email system. The agreement filed late Friday with the U.S. District Court in Washington comes after a judge consented to allow the group Judicial Watch “limited discovery” to probe why Clinton relied on an email server in her New York home during her tenure as secretary of state. Questions about the email system have bedeviled Clinton during her run for the Democratic presidential nomination. If Judge Emmet G. Sullivan approves of Friday’s agreement, lawyers...

Lawyers object to any attempt to ask Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills, and others about how information was handled—and are dead set against Clinton testifying. Lawyers for the State Department want to limit the types of questions that a watchdog group can ask former aides to Hillary Clinton, and potentially the former secretary of state herself, about her creation and use of a private email system while she was in office. The department asked a federal judge Tuesday night to grant “limited discovery” to Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group that wants to depose some of Clinton’s closest associates and staffers....

Lawyers for senior Hillary Clinton aide Cheryl Mills, during a nearly five-hour deposition last week in Washington, repeatedly objected to questions about IT specialist Bryan Pagliano’s role in setting up the former secretary of state’s private server. According to a transcript of the deposition with watchdog group Judicial Watch released on Tuesday, Mills attorney Beth Wilkinson – as well as Obama administration lawyers – objected to the line of questioning about Pagliano, who has emerged as a central figure in the FBI's ongoing criminal probe of Clinton's email practices. “I'm going to instruct her not to answer. It's a legal...

A federal judge on Thursday ordered that the videotape of Hillary Clinton’s former chief of staff giving a deposition later this week be sealed so it can’t be used in political attacks against the former secretary of state and likely Democratic presidential nominee. Judge Emmett G. Sullivan said the transcript will be made public, so the public will know what Cheryl Mills says. He said it was “unnecessary” to have the video released. He extended that order to all of the depositions being taken in the open-records case, which also applies to Mrs. Clinton’s closest personal aide, Huma Abedin. Neither...

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it has obtained Department of State emails showing that top Clinton aide Laura Pena helped push through the political appointment of former Clinton for President IT director Bryan Pagliano to a Schedule C position at the State Department in 2009. The new documents also show the involvement of Patrick Kennedy, Under Secretary for Management, in Pagliano’s hiring. The emails show others in the State International Resource Management (IT division) in which Pagliano would work questioned why a political appointee was being placed in the office.
