<p>A memorial is scheduled Friday for Dick Carver, a Nye County rancher who led a fight for local control of federal lands in Nevada.</p>
<p>Carver died Thursday at Nye County General Hospital. A cause of death was not given, but Carver said in November 2001 he was fighting a brain tumor. He was 58.</p>
