Talk about a tempest in a teacup (that's had a shot of Southern Comfort poured in it). I was clicking through the Internet Movie Database, when I came across this thread, which begins with an African-American moviegoer absolutely unloading on the upcoming remake of The Dukes of Hazzard. Like all recent Hollywood big screen remakes of '70s TV shows, the finished product will of course, be somewhere between mediocre and craptacular, and quickly forgotten. But as the readers of the IMDB illustrated, adapting the Dukes presents a special challenge to its filmmakers, the Wall Street Journal reports (subscription may...

I wasn't sure what to think when I heard that Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott would be starring in the DUKES OF HAZZARD movie. On one hand, it's much better than Ashton Kutcher and Paul Walker. On the other...it's Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott. But in all fairness to both those guys, I think they can both be pretty funny given the right project - ones they just haven't found yet (save from Johnny's work on "Jackass"). Lucky for us, the project is under the watchful eye of Jay Chandrasekar, the director behind Broken Lizard and lately doing...

In light of the recent news, speculation and gossip over the movie "The Dukes of Hazzard", several thoughts occurred to me while making my morning commute. The introspection led me to certain existential type questions about the television series, critiques on plot irregularities and singularities, and queries as to how that show translates into a 21st century setting. I've numbered them for ease of referential discussion.1. Income - For two convicted felons working little other than odd jobs (that you never saw much of), Bo and Luke spent a great deal of time driving aimlessly in a high maintenance car...

Idling loudly at the intersection of ''Bonanza'' and ''The Andy Griffith Show'' is a bright orange 1969 Dodge Charger with a Confederate flag on the roof and a horn that sounds the first dozen notes of ''Dixie.'' The car, dubbed the ''General Lee,'' was a television star from the late '70s into the early '80s. As an integral part of the cast of ''The Dukes of Hazzard,'' it carried the Duke boys, Bo and Luke, from one corn pone adventure to another. And at least once in every episode, the boys would launch the car into the air - horn...

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Here's your chance to purchase a real drive-able piece of kitschy TV memorabilia.A real "Dukes of Hazzard" General Lee, one of hundreds used in the show and, according to the seller, one of 17 verifiably sold by Warner Brothers, the show's producer.Association with a television show, movie or historical event can add greatly to the value of even the most plebeian vehicles. (More of those later.) In the case of the General Lee, the fact that the car is a Chrysler (DCX: Research, Estimates) "muscle car" from the late 1960s or early '70s also adds to...
