Hatfield’s only regret is he didn’t succeed that December 2005 night when he felt a moral obligation to take the law into his own hands. H atfield recently was tried by a jury of his peers and found guilty of reckless aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. The original indictment charged him with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of felony reckless endangerment. Jurors ultimately chose to convict him on the lesser charges.
