A federal court in the San Francisco Bay Area has determined that churches do not contribute to a vibrant and fun atmosphere and therefore may be excluded from Salinas’ downtown area. New Harvest Christian Fellowship has rented space along Main Street in Salinas for more than 25 years. Their growing congregation prompted leaders to recognize several years ago that the church needed a larger facility. In the meantime, the church has had to limit or even discontinue some ministries because of the space limitations. In 2017, it seemed the church’s prayers were answered when a larger building just across the...

Dear friends, in the last four months; because of the coronavirus quarantines, race riots, the passing of insane godless legislation etc., many of us have experienced things which we never thought possible! The closure of schools, businesses, churches, national sports leagues, ever growing government evasiveness, race riots, expanding national lawlessness, the absolute bulldozing and euphimistic redefining of moral absolutes, the ever growing demonic influence and propaganda by the majority of the godless media, a highly unstable and volatile stock market, massive unemployment, a two trillion dollar national stimulus package, a national shortage of toilet paper etc... etc... and the list goes...

One of the largest churches in Boise, Idaho, apologized for participating in "white supremacy" and announced it is removing the likeness of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee from a stained-glass window. In a statement, the pastors and staff at the Cathedral of the Rockies began by "acknowledging our own sin with a stained glass window," which also features presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. "The recent deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor brought long-overdue urgency to our discernment process," the church board wrote in a statement to members. "We are reminded of our privilege. We have waited...

There’s a man in Argentina who is extremely upset at what he considers to be illogical and ‘uneven’ lockdown restrictions in place in the South American country. The gentleman in question is the pastor of a large church in the city of San Lorenzo in the province of Santa Fe. Dismayed at regulations that allow shops, bars and restaurants to be open, but dictate that places of worship must remain closed, Pastor Daniel Cattaneo of the Comunidad Redentor church decided to take matters into his own hands. Determined to find a way to minister to his Christian flock and protest...

In the Baltimore suburb of Dundalk, Pastor Stacey Shiflett made some headlines recently when he stood at the lectern in the Calvary Baptist Church and tore up a cease and desist order he’d received from the government. Declaring that his congregation was “going to do it God’s way,” he insisted that if Walmart could be open, then his church would serve the needs of the congregation. He proceeded to do just that on the following Sunday, while ensuring that congregants observed social distancing rules and had their temperatures taken upon arrival.Good to their word, the government turned around and...

Following George Floyd's death, the nation may not be ready for reparations on racism issues but the "church can lead the way in biblical restitution," according to the president and CEO of Christianity Today. Timothy Dalrymple said "repentance alone is not enough" for white evangelicals to atone for the nation's "original sin" of racism in an op-ed for the magazine. "The virus of racism infected our church, our Constitution and laws, our attitudes and ideologies. We have never fully defeated it," Dalrymple wrote.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is facing a legal challenge over continuing COVID-19 gathering restrictions for houses of worship in New York. According to the suit, social distancing rules are not neutral policy but instead a “content-based regulation of First Amendment-protected activity.”

Most people don't scroll through their Twitter feed thinking a few simple clicks will change their life. But for Birmingham Pastor Chris Hodges, who's been a friend of mine for years, a handful of "likes" were all it took to make the biggest church in Alabama homeless. You can lose your lease a lot of ways -- if you fall behind on payments, abuse the property, or follow conservative media. Like most people Chris Hodges probably didn't think a quick tap of support for posts on Donald Trump or China's role in the coronavirus would amount to much of anything....

Cupich's reopening plan involves surveillanceCHICAGO (ChurchMilitant.com) - Cardinal Blase J. Cupich's litigious multi-phase "reopening" plan for Illinois Churches is raising alarm among many faithful who see it as a political power grab and not a move to satisfy their hunger for the sacraments. Referred to simply as "the Plan," it requires, among other things, that individual churchgoers be contact traced for COVID-19 and that individual parishes undergo a multi-step certification before being able to proceed with the overall reopening process. All Illinois bishops approved the Plan, which was unveiled on May 13 in English, Spanish and Polish on the Chicago...

‘Are we in a pandemic or not?” a reporter from the Orthodox Jewish newspaper Hamodia asked New York Mayor Bill de Blasio Tuesday. “And do we have one set of rules for protesters and another for everyone else?” Good questions. For nearly three months, the country founded to guarantee religious freedom has seen its houses of worship shut down. Following local and state executive orders, Catholic churches held no Mass. Communion wasn't taken, confessions weren’t heard, and Catholics went to their final rest without the comfort of the sacraments. Jewish prayer services, which require a quorum, were broken up by...

Recently Chief Justice Roberts ruled against a challenge to California restrictions on church attendance, claiming the restrictions weren’t different from regulations on other , comparable gatherings In the days since that ruling came down , the mass protest marches have started re the George Floyd case. Government officials have not merely allowed them, in a number of cases they are actively joining the gatherings So if there was ever equal treatment for the churches as Roberts claimed, there isn’t anymore. Can the court be petitioned to rehear the church lockdown challenge based on the dramatically new situation - the blatant...

Vice President Mike Pence joined Bishop Harry Jackson for a listening session with community and faith leaders on Friday, where he said the church is the right place to address the nation’s response to the death of George Floyd and the protests over racism that followed. “I couldn’t help but feel that as our nation reels from the tragic death of George Floyd, that a place to start a conversation is a place of worship,” Pence said at the listening session held at Hope Christian Church in Beltsville, Maryland, where Jackson is a senior pastor. “It’s the wellspring of our...

Attorney General William Barr says law enforcement officers were already moving to push back protesters from a park in front of the White House when he arrived there Monday evening, and he says he did not give a command to disperse the crowd, though he supported the decision. Barr’s comments in an interview with The Associated Press on Friday were his most detailed explanation yet of what unfolded outside the White House earlier this week. They come after the White House and others said repeatedly that the attorney general ordered officers to clear the park. Shortly after officers aggressively pushed...

DOVER, Delaware - Democratic Gov. John Carney of Delaware is backing off restrictions he imposed on church worship to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the face of a federal lawsuit challenging those restrictions as unconstitutional. State attorneys told a federal judge in a letter Wednesday that the “guidance” Carney had issued for worship services has been “expressly revoked” by new guidance issued Tuesday by public health officials. Attorneys for Carney added that nothing in the new guidance for houses of worship, or “HWs,” creates or imposes any mandatory restrictions or obligations on them beyond those that are generally...

The entire narrative the media glommed onto in lockstep was that Trump was a monster who tear-gassed peaceful protesters to do something meaningless. None of that was true.... The speech announcing the country would return to rule of law and protection of civil liberties, the walk through a park that the night before had been given over to rioters, and the visit to the vandalized historic church where every president has worshiped since James Madison, were reassuring to many in the country. For the media, however, these actions were further proof that Orange Man Bad is literally the worst, restoring...

Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mike Mullen broke his silence Tuesday to say he was 'sickened' by the use of U.S. National Guard forces to push protesters out of Lafayette park to make way for President Trump's photo-op. 'I am deeply worried that as they execute their orders, the members of our military will be co-opted for political purposes,' Mullen warned. 'I have to date been reticent to speak out on issues surrounding President Trump's leadership, but we are at an inflection point, and the events of the past few weeks have made it impossible to remain...

Trump Derangement Syndrome Has Reached Pandemic Status President Trump provided the nation a perfect social media snapshot of why so many of us are way beyond being able to see the American Left as anything but a bunch for raving lunatics. Yeah, I may be a little over the top now, but I think I’ve been drowned in so much hyperbole and anti-Trump hysteria AMID THE PANDEMIC that I now feel like responding in kind. It began when Trump gave a speech from the Rose Garden addressing the violence of the past few days that expressed some sentiments that are...
