The Sullivan Group ("We Elect Republicans"), the outfit tasked with the production of campaign merchandise for the Bush/Cheney campaign 2000, reports that it is SWAMPED with orders far beyond what had been expected, and that customers' shipments have been delayed as extra production capacity has been added to meet the demand. Sullivan tells me that shipments are currently running about 2 weeks after receipt of order, but that after Labor Day, most merchandise should be available for immediate shipment. Last evening our personal phone line rang at about 6:30 and the caller identified herself as being with the Gallup Polling Organization. I went to the URL in the SOURCE above, with an eye towards making a contribution AND buying some caps, T-shirts, etc. However, despite the fact that the site is nicely laid out and has a good number of links, there is NO link to making a contribution NOR a link to buying merchanside. Today dawned cool and sunny, a delightful prelude to Spring - and a great day for voting in the Southern Super Tuesday Presidential Primary here in Tennessee. My local precinct here in Antioch, a suburb of Nashville, is a church less than a mile from home, and the voting booths are set up in the church's Community Hall. Thunderstorms are beginning to rumble thru Middle Tennessee, so I tought I'd check the prognosis for Saturday's weather in SC. What we get here one day almost always winds up in the Carolinas the next day.
