  • This is the United States of America- Get Over It!!!

I’m listening to Atlas Shrugged on my iPod as I type this. Too funny. You are right on target. This country has been dipping its toes in the frigid pond of socialism for seventy years, testing those waters, flirting with them. Now it’s going to jump into that pond stark naked. Maybe it’s a curiosity that’s come of age. But it will learn its lesson once those freezing waters hit.

Decline? We don’t decline, my Aussie friend. This country needs an enema, and Obama is the Ex-Lax. The U.S. had a temper tantrum tonight. We’ll get over it. The novelty of Obama will wear off sooner or later. The same thing happened with Deval Patrick here in Massachusetts. There was a great feeling of hope when he was elected our first A-A governor in 2006, in part on his soaring promises with a veto-proof State House. And what has he accomplished? Nothing. Obama will try to accomplish, and he probably will get things done, but if he misjudges this result as an electorate eager for socialism instead of a referendum on Bush or the novelty of seeing him elected president, he’ll be this country’s first and last black president.

My wife and I just started sending our three-year-old to a Montessori pre-school outside Boston. I knew they were a bit demofascist from the get-go, but I didn’t give it much thought beyond their celebration of U.N. Day on October 24th. So my daughter came home from school last Thursday and said that they were talking about the election. Then she blurted out, “I like Barack Obama!” This is a girl who just turned three, but she got his name perfect, as if she’d been practicing it. I asked her who told her that and she said, “Jen,” which is her teacher. The next day, I told the story to one of the other parents who was sporting a McCuda sticker on the back of her SUV. She told me her kid came home and said the same thing. Rather than give the teacher an earful about it, where she could take it out on our kid, my wife and I decided that we’ll just have to counterprogram for the next 20 years, including college. We’ll do that over the dinner table. Because nothing can beat the power of the dinner table. Not even The Pretender.

You are exactly correct. When the government takes our liberties, it no longer honors the Constitution, and thus, we are no longer bound to honor that government. The secession question was only answered the way it was in 1865 because Lee got too ambitious at Gettysburg.

I’m thankful that Devalue Patrick has been, in reality, such a ninny that he hasn’t been able to get anything done. Think about it. What has he accomplished? He tried to get casinos and failed. He’s trying to get cops off detail, but it isn’t working out. That’s it. He took a month off when he was sworn in to tend to his cuckoo wife, and since then, he’s been Governor MIA. If Obamisery wins, let’s hope for a similar outcome. Let’s at least hope someone Obamisery champions gets photographed stuffing $25,000 into his/her bra — just for the comedic value.

I’ll call you what you are, Barack. Based on your views, you’re actually a National Socialist (class warfare, collectivism, cult of personality, cult of action, art of the manufactured crisis, cult of youth, reliance on thuggery). Which means you are a Nazi. Do you hear me? Barack Obama is a Nazi. Yeah, I said it. It needed to be said.

There’s probably going to have to be an armed revolt in this country anyway. I hate to say that, but it’s true. Let’s wake up and smell the cordite. Our forefathers did not die on battlefields across this nation and the world so that a Marxist charlatan could be elected president and use an ultra-left Congress to his devices. If Barack Obama does not recognize the sanctity of the Constitution (which he’s admitted already), then he cannot swear to preserve, protect and defend it, and we and the armed forces of the United States are under no obligation to him as a “leader”. Nor are we under any such obligation to a Congress which would give him authority. It’s not a pleasant thought to envision tanks rolling on Washington, D.C., but if the Demofascists bring it to that, then it needs to be done.

I have a client in Massachusetts who won’t vote for McCain for the same “warmonger” reason. She says he’s “too much like Bush, and I was always afraid Bush would reinstate the draft.” Her youngest son just started college. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that Obama probably will reinstate the draft, or at least try, because, you know, white boys are shirking their military duty and leaving the inner-city kids to do it. And if Obama thinks it, you know it’s true.

    Hey Mr. K,

    Sorry for the delay...

Yes, the ballot initiative to eliminate the Mass Income Tax is called Question 1. I will be voting yes. However, in two months the legislature can just repeal it (because that’s the crazy way things are up here), but I’d love to see the panic during those two months.

I grew up in Waterville, Maine and left when I was 18 to attend college. I would never live in Maine again. What was once a vibrant, industrial state has turned into welfare central. It doesn’t help that the state was overrun with enviro-nazis in the ‘90s, but the unions were out of control long before that, and the French-Canadian population, of which I’m one, is, as a whole, just too intellectually lazy to see any type of conservative light. They just want, want, want, and Augusta gives it to them. It’s a damn shame. Maine was a great place to grow up.

I’ve got to tell you all that it’s been an absolute pleasure reading your comments tonight. I started following this thread at Post #2 and just kept going. I never even watched the interview on the Abysmal Broadcasting Crap network.

Now, Red in Blue PA and charles m, please chill the hell out. Red, you live in Pennsylvania, go down to one of those state-run liquor stores and pick up a case of Yuengling. Then have a few. Or six.

Dianna, you can be my VP pick any day. You put Charles M right where he needed to be put. Actually, I’m wrong. I’ll be your VP pick. If I’m worthy.

But Matt Damon won an Oscar, people. An OSCAR! That gives him intellectual clout for-ev-er! Because, you know, winning a Hollywood peer award for writing a screenplay should impress the rest of us into submission of his stunning and well-articulated world views.

Hey, Matt, with all due respect, you hail from the People's Republic of Cambridge (Massachusetts). You went to Harvard for a time before you dropped out. You dress up and play make-believe for a living, earning sums of money that make it impossible for you to understand the realities of normal Americans. You couldn't even walk into a Wal-Mart without drawing attention. Please, spare us your pithy insights. I have no doubt that you're intelligent, but by virtue of your profession and your lifestyle, and the mindmelt you must undertake to conform to Hollywood standards, you're unqualified to speak at a rational level.

I'd had it with The History Channel's excess of commercials as well, Smarty, so I went out and got a DVR box from my cable company. It costs about $10 extra per month and it comes with HD capabilities. Now I record the shows I want to watch during their rebroadcast hours of Midnight to 3AM and blow through them later. Makes all the difference. I highly recommend it.
