I think voting against Bush is an emotional response to recent events. Remember, the election is 10 months away. The people who are raising hell do serve a purpose. But voting for a Libertarian or some other third party candidate IS wasting a vote in the middle of the War on Terror. It is a choice between Bush or a Dem. That's it. Who do you want leading this country. Do you want Kerry or Dean in the White House because Bush made you mad? Wait till Bush gets reelected, picks up some more senate seats, get some judges through, then start splitting hairs over who's the most conservative.
If we go to the Moon and Mars and eventually put a telescope up there, wont the Hubble be rendered irrelevant anyway? I am all for space exploration and I think that the problems with the economy or war on terror are not enough to slow mankind's exploration of space (I'm sure someone in 13th century Spain could have made a case that Columbus' expedition money could have been better used elsewhere). The Space program should move forward in spite of anything else that is going on. I just think that phasing out the Hubble and slowly scaling back our involvement in the Space Station would only put more pressure on NASA for some big action on Bush's plan.
